Dsquared2 S/S 06 Milan

Pardon? Didn´t they do Western so often already? Even Madonna wore these kind of suede chaps and cowboy shirts back when she promoted her "Music" album... just have a look on her video clip where she´s dancing with cowboys... it´s basically all DSquared...

yeah they did the costumes for her but not for a collection

They've never actually done a western theme (to my knowledge), but it is sort of reminiscent of their Homeless Collection.

I love it either way. Probably my favorite thing about Dsquared is wondering what their "Love is" parody shirt will say each season, though recently they've been declining in quality.

They did the costumes, but the Western-inspired pieces have been in the collection so often, they just never had the catwalk decoration to go with the inspiration of Western... this time is by far more in your face then in seasons before.

yeah i have to say i allways get those "love is" t-shirts lol :ninja: the tags have fallen out of the last 2

i have a soft spot for dsquared2 i know there clothes allways follow a simlar theme but so do dior homme's raf simons and ann demeulemeester - no one ever complains about there clothes being samey

Well, that´s probably because they are more grown-up in a way... nobody complains as long as it is respectful, honest and substantial... with DSquared, it´s pretty much a joke in my eyes... even I would feel too old to wear clothes like these, from their super-low-rise jeans to their overtly-logo-plastered accessories... LAMB, Sweetface, DSquared...? Where´s the difference, honestly? I´ve never seen the international MTV pop-star crowd as anyhow inspiring for me.

Hi I'm a noob, but just thought I would say I LOVE these two outfits. Very wearable, not too western, lots of fun. I wil definitely be keeping my eye open for these this spring.

i like this crazy collection, there's something really fresh about it.....

so what if they're grown up thats there signature, being joke like and extriemly camp is dsquared2's i dont see why you couldnt wear these clothes (appart from your taste lol). i'm not arguing (i allways come across as that over the net + we have similar taste - well appart from dsquared- i noticed when we talk in the chat) and i respect your opinion ^_^

Well, that´s totally fine... I respect that you see something in it that I probably don´t have access to... it´s basically just that for me, designers like Dolce, DSquared and whatsoever are the antithesis of what I like... I might have a cheesy humor in person, but I don´t see that clothes should make someone look cheesy, vulgar and attention-grabbing in such a literal term, thus I naturally tend to like those kind of clothes - and collections which don´t reveal themselves that easily... it´s much more interesting for me if I am left alone with something more abstract where you cannot tell so easily where it comes from or what it is than something where I can say "oh, that´s so 60ies Audrey Hebburn" "oh, that´s so Western" or whatever else comes to mind...

the thing that i like about these kind of designers is that there clothes are very wearable....if you watch a dolce and gabanna show, or dsquared or even baby phat show...you think...who the hell will wear that........it's so costumey or trashy or whatever...but the thing is...if you take away the hair and the make up and tone down a piece here and there, there clothes are extremly easy to wear....i think that they do the crazyness for the purpose of putting on the show...and that's about it....but seriously...there are alot of nice tops and jackets and pants...it's all in how you wear it....

true..... western vests.... yehawwwwwwww...... so fun!

Reminiscent of cheap stuff...
Like Guess...
the pieces might be decent separately, but as shown it all looks tacky.

i like it. especially the first two looks posted in the thread. maybe im just a little messed up because things have been soooooooooooo bad this season, but its really an improvement for them

I think they were really feelin' the Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke look. It is probably not a "theme" for them but more like their signature style. Like western, rugged farm house looks translated into sexy fashion.

as much as I hate Dsquared the skirt Carmen Cass is wearing with the gun is pretty sweet.

i love how their personalities transfer so well into the clothes they make. it s so...them:flower:
