Thanks for the videos! She sounds remarkably like my aunt (who is Chinese). I just wish I knew what Du was saying. :unsure:
 
I love her. Even though I can only understand a little mandarin she seems very well spoken. Apparently she won a pretty substantial beauty pageant and used to dance?

Interviewer: Du Juan was extremely sorry today she said to me she was going to wear another outfit today where she could wear flat shoes but because the clothes weren’t prepared in time she had to wear these heels to match her outfit today.

Du Juan : That’s right.. I was going to wear flat shoes but .. actually I really do like to wear flat shoes (interrupted)

Interviewer: Don’t worry we’re sitting down but you are wearing heels now how tall are you?

Du Juan :
Wearing high heels.. well wearing these heels now I’d say 180cm or above..

Interviewer:
Are you mum and dad all very tall?

Du Juan :
Yes my dad is 180cm and my mother is 170cm and I’m 178cm

...And also as a model they have to fly .. a lot , usually when I personally fly to new york I need time to settle because I’m jetlagged with the time difference. What about you? Don’t you need to settle?

Du Juan:
Because sometimes we wont have time to settle . Sometimes when you just arrive there you immediately have to just work .

Interviewer
This past 2007 have you counted how many hours you’ve spent on the plane?

Du Juan:
Sky time (lol) I think now flying to New York from China approximately you have to be in the air for 13 hours and sometimes one week I’ll fly two to three times , something like that. And a lot of the times for example I’ll take a flight to New York but actually I’ll only be there for 1-2 days working and when I’m going back to China I take the same plane with the same staff and the people working there will be like what , how come your back so fast ! The staff think its really strange butits just like that. This job require you to fly all over the place , from paris, New York , flying flying..

Interviewer:
Looking at a models lifestyle we think its very glorious , because we’re always thinking you guys get to go to the worlds most beautiful places new york , paris , Milan , London but the backstage , we really cant feel how exhausting and tiring it is .
Now Du Juan has done so much this past year lets take a look behind us.

Have you tried the first time you saw yourself on a huge billboard on the street what did you feel like?

Du Juan:
You see this photo its actually on the streets in New York 5th avenue . This photo that your looking at .. actually I photographed it myself , (she didn’t actually photograph the picture itself , she means she took the picture of the billboard outside the shop)

Interviewer:
So this place we’re seeing right now is new york 5th avenue that is the

That’s Bergdorf Goodman

Interviewer:
This place is like Beijing’s (insert the name of this really high fashion store) wait its actually even higher than that and a very exciting place!

Du Juan : This store does stock some of the biggest brands in the world (modestly)

Interviewer:
So your looking at this big photo, this is you Du Juan you photographed it yourself..

Du Juan:
Yes because that avenue has a lot of display windows and that day I was walking pass 5th avenue after work and I was at the opposite side of the road and I was seriously scared myself , because you know the billboard was especially huge , and I really didn’t know they already were displaying it.. I already photographed it yes but I didn’t really know it was going to be out so soon and going to be displayed that big! So I immediately took out my camera , because nowadays I always carry a camera and I kept taking photos , photos , photos of the billboard

Interviewer:
You didn’t take a good photo

Du Juan:
Noooo I took it very clearly (laughs)

Interviewer:
You think its clear (laughs)

Du Juan:
Actually after I took it I immediately sent it to my relative called melvin ! hehe and somehow he sent it to Beijing etalk magazine and it became on the cover of etalk the picture that I took myself.. (laughing)

I think so ( modestly) but I’m not how do you say the type of girl where you look at me and straight away I’m beautiful .. how to say like the classic beauty?

(lol) thank you but I think I’m more of a quiet beauty not the type where you look at me and think I’m beautiful immediately , not the classic beauty..
