ELIE SAAB the 1001 season show
Styling by Carine Roitfield
Casting by Piergiorgio Del Moro

That was a fabulous show. I felt very entertained. I wish his cast in Paris was as elevated as this one had been.

Carine is just taking all the money!

Good for Mr Saab! Considering what is going in Lebanon right now, I didn’t expect from him to have an event however, the Saudi authorities did their thing.

I have a huge respect for Elie Saab. 45 years in business is extraordinary and he is one of those talents who owes his success to his clientele. They are the ones who pushed him to show in Italy and then be recognized in Paris. He really created an empire the Arab world should be proud of.

About the event. It’s very tacky and quite unwatchable but if the audience, Mr Saab and his family are happy, nothing more needs to be added.

when Halle came out in her Oscar dress! It's all very true to his brand, congratulations to him on 45 years in business, that is no mean feat and clearly something's working right.

She can fulfill all my wishes with her taco-flavored kisses for all I care, but I still think she’s a fantastic performer. Girl can definitely dance, I’ll give her that.

I can't stomach her for obvious reasons (please see avatar) but it's nice the Middle East still likes her after her movie/musical fiasco flop.

The show is unapologetically honest given the state of Lebanon even it is very distasteful in every sense of humanity. Here is a brand that tells its clientele (arab elites) they don’t give a f*ck about what ordinary people think, so I would easily take this one over the hyprocricy of other brand (Demna’s Urkaine show comes to mind and those Maria Grazia propaganda). I always thought that ES is poor man’s Dior/Chanel, but in the spirit of elitism it outdo both especially after the passing of Karl.

I mean the show is sponsored by Saudi and Riyadh Season which tries so hard to promote tourism and entertainment in Saudi Arabia. Of course, the budget is limitless. I thought it's a fun show. Some pieces are really gorgeous, but the whole thing take away from the beauty of the garments.

Yeah what is this? When all budget went on to the most random selection of veterans which was Roitfeld's idea I guess

But at the same time, A lot of people’s lives depends on the success of Elie Saab. And Lebanon has went through so much, from the explosion, to the various conflicts and all in the past 20 years that I think the spirit of resilience is maybe stronger there than anyone can imagine.
Elie Saab started in the 80s in Lebanon and only came to Europe in the late 90s so his success story has always been synonymous with dealing with those factors.

That’s why despite everything, I have a real admiration for what he has accomplished.
