That's what I was thinking too, but it's not so bad, although I thought Elle executed the concept better with Mary-Kate.

I really like Kate Beckinsale. She's an underrated beauty, and her interviews tend to be really funny. She's also quite well-read, and has led a eventful life. Her career choices sometimes puzzle me though, she hasn't been in a lot of good films. Still, I look forward to this issue.

and um, what's the deal with Kate Beckinsale as cover star?

she's hardly "fashion" which is the direction ELLE is clearly steering itself in and she looks incredibly airbrushed.

Can't imagine shes a star who'll shift copies.

Agreed! Surely they had 6 more shots to work with from the thousands that would have been taken. Doesn't really make sense to do a grid with the same shots. Pointless actually. Purely aesthetic!
