Emilio Pucci S/S 11

Insane boots! Kasia's dress looks gorgeous.
Did Peter almost fell in the finale?

Nothing we haven't seen before from Dundas but bloody hell it's so sexy!! :woot: And so deliciously luxurious too!

This is why overdoing and luxuriating effortless glamour works only for Milano (*ehem*, Balmain). Reminds me of Roberto Cavalli a few years back, just needs that PIZZAZZ presentation, but then it wouldn't be Dundas' Pucci. I would like to see where this goes.

As far as inspiration goes, this collection is a major fail. I could find 80% of those looks in Cavalli's archives (Spring 2005 comes to mind particularly) and the rest from Giannnis Gucci Resort collections.

Besides, inspiration aside, this is absolutely horrendous. Most of it looks so incredibly demode, I actually feel embarrassed for him. He is not original, he is certainly not trendy or of-the-moment (like Balmain was / is) and he has zero skill as a designer. The craftsmanship is at such a low level in his work, yet people swoon over his collections; I just don't get it.

At least Dercanin at Balmain applies some kind of French savoir-faire to his work. The man knows how to cut for a start and he certainly knows the intricacies of couture embroidery and applique techniques. I fail to see any of this technique in Peters work. For me, he is ruining the legacy of Pucci. Pucci is tomorrows Ungaro.

Oh man, I love Pucci now. I mean, it's nothing like the old Pucci (which I did not like...way too funky for me) and it's not exactly original since it reminds me of Balmain, but I love the clothes. It's a better Balmain in my opinion.

What a GORGEOUS collection!
I mean there's no other to say...it was just amazing!
So luxurious, bohemian, lots of rich fabrics and embroideries but also very light and fresh dresses...it was like taking the best signature elements of every big designers:sexiness from Versace, bold and wild style from Cavalli, the short shimmering minidresses from Balmain, and the typical Pucci prints!
This is like when a dream come true, still cannot believe it was so awesome! :woot:

I couldn t have say it in a better way!

Smokin' Hot! the prints look great and it's refreshing that he's growing while keeping this vibe in Pucci. What's diffent from Balmain is that he is develping new ideas not just skinny pants and only big shoulders like Balmain. And what a great cast of models. They all look very sexy.

Sexy, sexy, cool, feminine, sexy and again very sexy, especially all the dresses. The collection is like a part 2,3,4 of previous season but who cars - it looks good.

Oh good, I was beginning to think that I would be the only one hating this collection.
Since my thoughts were going in the sam direction as yours, I am quoting you as a confirmation how much i dislike this colletcion.

i agree. v. sad.:( nothing was original or even pucci to me.

Peter is completely reinventing the Pucci image, since his first show. Of course he's not doing what Christian Lacroix or Matthew Williamson, but that's why he has been hired. So I don't know why people are still complaigning about this not being enough "Pucci".
And for the Cavalli inspiration, I think there's always been a Cavalli vibe in his designs even when he was at Ungaro. That's why I loved this collection. Because sometimes you need designer slike Peter who may not be the most innovative and exciting ones, but he's easy to understand. He's always true to himself, and delivers super sexy and fresh collections without trying to hard like Christophe Decarnin at Balmain sometimes.
There were very good prints, the sharp silhouette was very good. I loved the balance between the super sexy short or long dresses and the loose pants outfits plus the bathing suit. He actually designed a whole summer wardrobe. There are pieces for every day, every occasions etc. It's easy to see his love for the woman's body and how he wants to make it as sexy as possible. And with those lace-up boots it's easy to say that he reached his goal.

2 things.
1st this is wonderful.
2st it hurts to say it cause to me it's NOT pucci anymore...i now fashion is made to move, but pucci was famous for its specials geometrics and colors. this guy apprently cannot handle it

Of course i love this collection. All outfits are sexy and so chic (except the pink pants ). But i agree that it's not Pucci anymore. I used to see crazy colors and prints.

Not a fan again this season...but at least last season was glamorous and kind of OTT chic. This looks so messy to me.

I'm sorry but I just don't see the hype...
This just as easily could've been Cavalli or Gucci... it all looks exactly the same to me... It's completely interchangeable... it's Cavallucci...

first, peter dundas worked for roberto cavalli for years, no? so there will be signatures shared. second, he wouldn't put out a collection this similar to the last collection if the stuff didn't sell. his gowns appeared on more than one starlet and people actually BUY the stuff now which i know pleases his superiors at lvmh in the end. with that said, i hope he moves the needle a bit past this look and takes on more of the heritage of the house of emilio pucci. while this stuff will make for more swift sales among the st. tropez-by-way-of-moscow crowd, i'd love to see more range from this man who has done such great things at other houses like ungaro. i'd love to see him find a new way to make us love the mixing of pucci prints again, for example.

my thoughts exactly.
as a huge fan of birkin's style i couldn't help but like that dress when i saw it, although it's very literal (and would only work on someone like jane - very rare nowadays)... i think it's the only thing i like in this collection along with the last dress and the cuissardes (which, again, would only work on very few people).
