@ the prevalence of the asymmetrical fishtail skirts / dresses, loved the boots but they kinda got repetitive and that black swimsuit towards the end was flat out nasty. Having said this, this is one of the most impressive collections of the season. It's hippie, it's Pucci,* it's retro inspired but not too costumey or literal, yeah I saw the Birken dress but I am not going to fault him because the silhouette translated well to 2010 and also the 2010 knit pattern is very different and more complex than the 1.0.
I am wickedly impressed with how focused the collection is around its theme / aesthetic and yet it has variety, however I would have definitely like to see less of that fishtail, although admittedly, it moves beautifully. I definitely like the Dolce and Gabanna collection, but this is both its cousin (the focused part) and its antithesis (the variation). Dundas and Pucci have been just 'there' in my fashion consciousness, yes I have liked numerous looks from his collections and I've particularly have liked the staging and styling of his shows, but now he is on my "Ooo, FW is coming up and I can't wait to see Pucci," "ZOMG Pucci starts in an hour!" list.
" I am not an expert on all things Pucci, but I see the connection to vintage Pucci and yeah I see the Cavalli too, but I also know that Dundas worked for Cavalli and Lacroix who also designed for Pucci, it is all just so intertwined and incestuous!
