Yeah. I know some articles in her thread referred to it as a campaign, but we know how journalists are...

Interesting that she's exclusive with Testino, though, I somehow missed that info.

I think Chloé could be great! Don't really see why they'd bring in Michele Hicks, though. :ermm:

^ I'm pretty sure I've read in several places that Testino shot Catherine for Boss Black as well as D&G, and that she's staying exclusive with him for 6 months or however long it was.

Although, I guess we don't know for sure that it was the Cruise campaign. But what else could it be?
Yeah, no-one said it was Cruise, but the timing would suggest so, right? Anyway, just thought i'd pull together the sources who originally mentioned it, just so we can have it in this thread not the S/S thread. In order of reportage:

Friend of Cath's on the Vogue AU forum:

Just thought I would let you know. She has just gone to America (New York) for a contract for three years.

Within a couple of weeks of arriving, she has scored herself some major contracts...

She is now the face of Hugo Boss and she got a Dolce and Gabana campaign.
Gold Coast newspaper:

Gold Coast coathanger Catherine NcNeil is the next big thing in the fickle world of fashion. Within 10 days of arriving in the big apple, she was spied by lensmaster Mario Testino, who snapped her up for his new Dolce & Gabbana print campaign. a print campaign for D&G is the big time. As Carrie Bradshaw once noted in Sex and the City 'they're some picky Italians'. Cath also caught the eye of legendary fashion designer Hugo Boss, who requested a meeting with the statesque brunette. She's currently strutting her stuff on the catwalks for New York fashion week. Apart from not having the time to be homesick, Cath had a special reminder of home with her. Her globetrotting granny has just been to New York to check up on her and make sure she is wearing clean undies and eating her greens.
(granted, she was not in the NY shows, but I doubt they'd have thought their readers would know any better)

V Magazine:

I would have booked this 17-year-old Aussie in all my New York shows had she been available! Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for her, she was shooting D&G and British Vogue with none other than Mario Testino while the shows were on. Add to that the new Hugo Boss Black campaign...not bad for a new girl. And she is already on hold for all the major Milan designers.

Later reports that then mention the exclusive:

Sunday Telegraph:

"This January, I went with my grandmother to New York to meet with the agency, Next, and soon after I was flown to Paris to meet with (revered photographer) Mario Testino,'' Catherine said. "I've been travelling so much my four-year-old sister thinks I live at the airport.''

Mario booked Catherine immediately for D&G and Hugo Boss campaigns and put her under a six-month exclusive editorial contract.
NY Times:

Unknown to the business just a year ago, Ms. McNeil was sent by her Paris agency to see the photographer Mario Testino. He was so struck by her pillowed lips, her Amazonian legs, her sultry adult face — so radically unlike the whittled marionette blanks that have held sway for the past couple years — that he put her under what is called an exclusive and photographed her for the British and French editions of Vogue. Four months later, Ms. McNeil was hired for a campaign for Dolce & Gabbana and also as the new face of Hugo Boss.

“It’s just a nice cocktail that happens, meeting the right person and being the right girl at the right time,” explained Jürgen Wagner, the booking director of Next Models, Ms. McNeil’s French agency. “Mario totally liked the girl and saw what he could do with her.”

LOL, how stupid are these reportes, thinking that Hugo Boss is still an existing person :D

:p

That's a whole lot of D&G campaign mentions for C-Mac, though. But it doesn't really add up if Klein shot Cruise (or was that just an assumption?). Unless it was some special campaign.. are D&G launching a new fragrance or something? I guess we can only wait and see...

Anyway, I love how this thread grew like six pages since yesterday. :D Keep the rumors coming!

This thread is so entertaining

I personally have no preferences for the F/W ads, although I do hope to see Snejana in at least one!

Anja AGAIN for Chloe? Why? She doesn't suit the collection - and she didn't even walk the show!

It would be a travesty if Catherine gets any campaign if you ask me :ninja:

I like the Dolce casting. It's unexpected and different. I wished they added Olga Sherer into the mix to spice things up and replaced Frost with Lara Stone.

it's sad to not see raquel doing chloe again, i love her at chloe

Well, to be fair, she was in last seasons' campaign (which was quite popular), so Chloé and the photographers are probably hoping that this season will have the same effect ;)

Inez & Vinoodh like her ;) B)

Do photographers really have any say at all in regards to who'll get what campaign?. I believe that most designers themselves aren't that heavily involved in the casting process, don't they have casting directors to take care of that for them?.

I think they have actually...look at Inez& Vinoodh..they shot their favourites Anja and Raquel for Chloe ss07..Lara for Givenchy ss07 ^_^

but I agree on the designers..most of them are not that involved, I think. Except for Karl maybe, but Karl wants to be involved in everything

Heather Marks: at 18 with 14+ Vogue covers, she is the new face of hot designer, Badgley Mischka, and beauty giant, Revlon. Discovered in her hometown of Calgary, Heather was recently cast in the coveted Victoria's Secret Show. Her meteoric rise over the past three years has resulted in more campaigns than we can name.

Hmm, I'm going to go against the grain and say that so far, I'm pleasantly surprised with the castings.

The Dolce one sounds fairly promising right now. I like the idea of Hye, Vlada, and Georgia together really. I can see that possibly being really interesting, though I didn't particularly care for the collection. As for Chloe, I never really knew of Michelle Hicks as a model, but I think she could look great with Anja in particular.

I love this time of the year ;)
