As we look forward to the fashion shows starting next month, here's a thread to discuss which ones you're looking forward to, why, and also any predictions you want to make.

Me, I'm looking forward to Milan & Bottega Veneta. Marc Jacobs used to be my go-to designer, and sometimes I still find things ... but he & I have both changed :ninja: I'm getting older, he's getting ... weirder.

I've been able to find things the past two seasons at Bottega Veneta, and their quality never ceases to impress me. (I was just cleaning out the shoe box from the shoes I bought for fall, and what did I find but ... a tiny ziplock bag with an extra pair of heel taps, complete with screws ^_^ WOW--Marc Jacobs never gave me those--and neither has any other expensive or designer shoe I've ever bought.) And--you can see the handwork in every s:innocent:ingle piece.

I'm hoping for more color, and more separates at Bottega Veneta. And a collection from Marc that doesn't leave me shaking my head would be nice

I'm looking forward to Dior, I hope that Galliano can make a great collection ( and make us forget the S/S 08 one ) and use Gisele for the ad campaign ^.~

Vera Wang! I always love seeing her detailed, classic designs. She seems to change it up a bit every season, but not so much that you're shocked by the pieces.

There's too many.. I'm waiting to see Dior, Balenciaga, Chanel and Kenzo after awful SS 08 collections, also Prada and of course Lanvin & Marc Jacobs! :woot:

definitely Chloe, I wanna see how Melim evolves this season, and if he is able to deliver a Chloe collection instead of the mess he is doing at the moment

Also Versace, I wanna see that show so much, it screams sexyness, and hotness, I wanna see what Donatella bring us this season, I´m sure some piece in fur that I would love!!

roberto cavalli for sure...I hope he can deliver a bit more sex appeal, like the old days..really please roberto comeback with the big hair, hot walk, and ultra sexy music

that´s it!

i love Stefano Pilati for YSL, so can't wait to see what he's gonna show.

I'm curious how the weird stuff from last season translates itself to the new season, lol. Cause WEIRD was the keyword.

Like Marc Jacobs (will Suzy Menkes still attend?), Prada (What is she THINKING?)

But also:
Jill Sander (cause im scared of Raf Simons dissapointing at some point, I know, very pessimistic)
Balenciaga (cause I'm hoping for more substance and less hype)
Chloé (cause ss 08 I loved, pre-fall looked weird, but I think Paolo is moving forward, just don't understand which direction lol)
Lanvin (cause Alber can't just keep on producing celebrational fashionmoments)
Nina Ricci (cause I know it's gonna be beautiful)

NOt looking forward to:
givenchy (tiring and painful to watch)
dior (the new couture-approach doesnt interest me anymore after 3 seasons)
galliano (hope its nice, but doubt it, has only dissapointed me last couple of seasons)
alexander mcqueen (boring, just same old stuff)
viktor en rolf (tired of conceptual gimmicks lol)

etc

lanvin is the one i'm most excited for. too bad it's on the last day of the last week :( such a long wait.

There's such a long list, but here's the breakdown.

Because they're exciting - Marc Jacobs, Prada, Galliano, Balenciaga, Valentino (Faccinetti's debut)

Because they've been good lately - Versace, Vera Wang, Nina Ricci, Miu Miu, YSL, Jil Sander

Because they're could go either way - Dior, Donna Karan, McQueen, Chanel, Dolce

Because of morbid curiousity - Gucci

Because they're consistently good, even after four weeks of crap and boredom - Lanvin

LUTZ-because of his consistent strength the previous seasons and normally he does a stupendous autumn collection.
Reem Alasadi-one person who doesn't seem to be afraid to be completely esoteric in spite of economics....such dramatic texture laden works she creates.
Bruno Pieters-can't wait to see what surprises he's in store for us.
TAO-great collection last season...anxious about her next progression.
Boudicca-always a highlight. haven't disappointed me yet.
Jens Laugesen-a bit of a disappointment last i do have higher hopes for the next.
Anne-Valérie Hash-hopefully with a double dose of her irreverent, esoteric and organic texture. wasn't so keen on the opulence of the previous collection.
Christian Wijnants-again,always a much anticipated showing. he hasn't had a bad one yet.
Matthew Ames-totally enamoured with his last collections. he's definitely a best kept secret.
Bernhard Willhelm-unpredictable he is so i expect no less a surprise.
Txell Miras-just  her
Lanvin-no explaination needed,really.
A.F. Vandevorst-disappointing last season but since i know they can be up and down, perhaps next season will be wonderful.
Véronique Branquinho
Charles Anastase
Haider Ackermann
Roksanda Ilincic
Sharon Wauchob

oh completely forgot my always favourite Marjan Pejoski!

and Cosmic Wonder.

I 100% agree with this entirely. Though I will add Givenchy to the "either way" list...

I can´t wait for My love Versace. Just curious about the new stuff they gonna to present. But also my fave fashion week Milan. Counting the days.

well as usual, it's marni for me
they use interesting fabrics and bold, simple designs

same for jil sander

and ever since i've been wowed by balenciaga for spring 08 i want to see them again --the most out of everyone in fact

Balenciaga and Diane von Furstenberg. Usually love both.
i'm going to check more women's collections this year then i usually do. mens fashion is rubbish without slimane.:innocent: thanks god we have lanvin!

Lanvin
YSL
Viktor & Rolf (guilty pleasure...:innocent:)

Sonia Rykiel - I love her plain & simple.
Chanel - Loved Pre-fall want to see where it leads/
Roksanda Illincic - Didn't like the spring dimensions.
Alexander Wang - Is just styling ?
Lavin - Alber is my absolute favourite at the moment and has been for the past two years.
Bottega Veneta - Can't hate it ever.
Vivienne Westwood - Always loved her work since I was little but I don't know I'm a bit perturbed by all these Andreas whispers , winter is always stronger for her anyway and I want to see what politics are included this time.
Derek Lam - Soooo wearable with a twist that New York does so well.
3.1 Phillip Lim - Ditto
Nathan Jenden - He puts bows on everything I love , didn't like the baseball caps though.
Luella - Can't wait last season was my favourite of hers.
Burberry - Will there be anything new ?
Dior - Will it be a rehash ?

Too many really ! Lots more London shows , Emma Cook , Louise Goldin , Marios Schwab etc etc !

Ohh and Valentino of course , Faccinetti Valentino designed by a woman intersted to see the results .Prada and MiuMiu are also a given I always prefer miumiu.
