Thought seeing as the couture collections are coming up we better start predicting the next big things.

What I've been inclined to say on more than one occasion when commenting on the pre-fall collections and what I've heard other people saying also, is "old-fashioned".
What with pastels and cameos in for spring and the new Miu Miu campaign also deemed "outdated".
Is granny-chic officially in for winter?

STYLE.COM's Fall 2012 trends predictions -

The Fall collections, believe it or not, start five weeks from today. Re-acclimating to the office after a long holiday break, we took a closer look at the pre-fall presentations in order to make some educated guesses about what we’ll be seeing on next month’s runways. First up is green for evening. If influencers like Jason Wu and Proenza Schouler have their way, the upcoming shows—not to mention the Oscars—will be emerald city. Another major story is the revived focus on the waist. Everyone from Michael Kors and Donna Karan to newcomer Sofia Sizzi of Giulietta cinched looks with wide belts to create hourglass silhouettes—typically strong sellers for retailers. On the more relaxed side, downtown labels including Rag & Bone and Theyskens’ Theory are making a case for ultra-wide-leg trousers. Fall’s answer to the maxi skirt? Could be. And let’s not forget about outerwear. Given all the toggle coats we’ve seen from Burberry Prorsum, Narciso Rodriguez, and Versace, we predict the duffel will replace the parka as the fashion troops’ must-have jacket.

My gut is telling me lots of navy and the 40's. I have yet to back it up with pictures. I'll try to do that later...
But that was the general feel I got from some of the pre-fall collections.

It's been evident at the menswear shows, but i think Military is on its way back in. (at Prada, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana).

And Velvet jackets/suits seem to be continuing for Menswear. (Ferragamo, Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana).

Mulled Wine kind of colors particularly in Tailoring.

And a big push seems to be on Bomber jackets.

I think we'll see Florals aswell, McQueen had hints of it in the Presentation and it looks as if Versace will too.

i'm backing green. for any time. i've been feeling green for a few years now.

i also feel like the tribal movement must reach the climax soon, it's been slowly boiling for the past few seasons.

last but not least

structure

more and more structure, less slouch. in our current economic status, people want safety and, well, structure, in all areas of life.

I'm feeling peplum skirts, dresses, jackets and blouses for fall!

Pre-Fall 2012 Trend: Fur Get It
By ANTONIA SARDONE
As pre-fall (finally!) comes to an end, fur has proven to be one of the season’s biggest trends. Looks came in everything from subtle tufts to allover patchwork motifs, beastly coats to ladylike dresses.

By ANTONIA SARDONE
Great knits are always a pre-fall favorite, but this season designers are running the loom into overtime, turning out some terrific sweater dresses.
