Fabric Houses In New York City

If you use the SEARCH you can find tons of stores and even addresses... I remember posting to some of them, so I know they exist.

If you walk up and down 37-39th between 8th ave and 6th ave you will find TONS of fabric stores.

My favorite is the one you mentioned Mood.
The address is 225 West 37th Street Suite 3 Just in case you didn't have it.

moods is my favourite store as well...i always see major designers in there when i go there...

and there really are fabric wholesalers on every corner over there...as well as all along the streets...

I need to go there soon... But just in case you're in the market for leather too, do NOT buy leather from Mood. It's too expensive, and the room they keep it in is so unorganized that the leather gets ruined!!

funny thing yesterday i bought fabric for the first time in my life and i had some names my teacher suggest and they said Mood was the biggest one. I never felt more overwhelmed in my life, haha but i like the store. just didnt think was that well organized, i mean if you 're a newbie its kind of hard find the right stuff. Im so gonna check out this other thread thanks Luna!

Guys why dont we start a list of adress of the best shops for fabric and trims? Im new in this whole sewing thing, but Im very found in build a good adress list of stores.

one more note. Mood does give you a so called wholesale price 10 yds or more.
If something costs about $10 yd, they will give it for $7 or $6 if quantity gets huge( 20-40 or more yds. Probabaly $8 for 10 yds.They key is to know to ask. They are not enccouraged to tell people this, but most sales people will tell you if your cool with them. Rude custmers are not told anything.

They also have a silk house specifally for wholesale.

i can't find the address to the store for some reason...but it's on 6th ave around 37th sst...they have about 3 storefronts all next to each other with different types of trim and baubles...
