Fair / Pale Skin

As anyone tried/use the powders Diorskin Nude or Dior Show Poudre Libre?
Your thoughts on them?

I hate (and I look awful with) caked on make up and foundation in general, so I find myself my best with ck mineral loose powder in the lightest color (after a while it blends with your skin and looks really natural and transparent! I use the same color even when I'm slighty tanned with fake tan)

I did choice to keep as white as i can in summer as i think people don't realize sometimes the dangerous of the sun or like it was a summer rule plus i seriously don't like have tanning marks... i used to be very into the beach at any time living besides the coast as a lil' kid but here the sun is a killer and if you dont take care even being a local the burning pink skin is so bad... So i always cover myself in 50+ protector and my mother think i look like a foreign just arrived to the coast or just crazy but she think the same as im vegetarian...so haha
I like to take care of my skin and i remember i read how people in a couple of months destroys all the money they have use in keep their skin healthy the rest of the year...specially the face is an important place to keep protected...i find it nice in some people...also theres different kinds of tanning but i like to keep kind of like a vampire in a way?B)

It's crap! Never buy it.. you'll just throw your money away.
For fair skin the best foundation is SENSAI - KANEBO. Best ever!

Wow, I am so happy I found this thread.I am pale as well/with freckles, which I don't like :(/ and I have dark brown hair, blue eyes.

I am sick of people telling me I should tan. When I was younger I felt so self-conscious about it. I even tried to tan for the whole summer once, which resulted in my skin being dry like never before. From that on I realised that I will rather be pale than look like a fried orange D:. Also now that I am older/21/ I became to like my pale skin. And when I see older women who have been sunbathing constanly ... their skin is just really really bad. NO THANKS. This year when I was on holidays in Tunisia, the friend of my mother told me I am really pale and offered me her oil with SPF6... in TUNISIA(WTF CANCER HELLO THERE?)!!! telling me that is all I need. As our holiday trip was coming to end she was not using any SPF at all, nothing. And looked like a snake which is getting rid of its skin.

I don't have anything about tan when it is natural. Some people use suncreams to protect their skin and just can't help it and they get tanned. That is ok. We should all stay as we are.... I only wish people will realize soon, that there is more than one skin tone that is "right". Listen to your body.

^ too truth i got very sensitive skin...
Now people is used to me being pale but its like i don't tell them don't get tanned ...i simply don't want to throw away all the lotions i use to protect my pale skin the whole year in a summer... or fried my skin... im vegetarian i don't like meat fried but alive... i do use a high protector cause i live in a very sunny area and sun is very dangerous and aggressive with the skin...specially at certain times...

I hide myself from it i don't mind what people thinks says or likes me to be tanned. When i got tanned i got new freckles...i couldnt scape to the oops too much sun and it took me a lot to repair my skin from the whole summer...
This is my way and im not a marketing target for that industry.
Same with self tanners...i dont approve them for animal right personal ethic reasons.

I think theres a place for everyone tanned people, pale people, every color skin people right?

For those who break out after being outside in the sun and if you have sensitive skin, you could actually have a sun allergy. I found out I did.

Its sucks cause Im so pale
But I rarely go out into the sun for long periods anyway, so meh,

^Allergic or not... I dont like it... I don't like to do what people simply do i like to do it because i like it... and i dont like to fry my skin...i do respects the ones who love it... so i just like to be treat the same way... when people say: ooooh you would look cutter with some tanning I just laugh or smile... and i say " thats not gonna happen..." haha

oh god I get the same thing!
My mom, my sister, my brother, friends...they alll tell me I need to tan, but I like being pale, it just sucks when you are because any blemish/sun burn is soooo evident

If I know I'm going to be out in the sun for an extended period of time I always wear sunscreen. My skin is very sensitive to the sun and I can freckle easily. Like many of you here, I don't try to find a way to tan and just accept/embrace my pale skin.

foreverandnone & ediewho I join your club aswell :D :p
I've always been pale - and never had a problem with it. I mean, I just think it looks better on me and I don't want to damage my skin with sunbaths, because avoiding the sun is simply one of the easiest ways to prevent ones skin.
I already got used to all the "oh, honey are you alright? You look like you're going to faint any minute" comments  Well, IMO you certainly don't need to be bronzed for being healthy.

Don't ya just love backhanded insults like that  I have come to terms with the fact that people who make comments like that have a very different ideal of beauty than I possess. I kind of take a snotty, I'm better than them, pride in it to be honest.

I don't think you get any prettier by getting a tan, actually you get less prettier ... I must confess that I had a summer that I wanted to get tanned so badly because I was very white and all my cousin's friends were already tanned as hell and I kinda of felt inferior around them  and I'd go to the beach with someone or alone which sucks going alone just to work on my bronze. So I mean, my way of thinking was like most everybody, getting a tan is a must in the summer, but then I've changed my mind because I was influenced by fashion, because models can't get tanned because they look worst and damage their skin ... so that's my way of thinking now & I think it's the right on for sure.

Fashion brings so many good influences.

i am very pale and i tried urban decays surreal skin poweder foundation compact. its a bit expensive (34$ but the coverage was great and it was very "lifelike". i can't recommend it enough!

^idont think its that expensive... but wouldn't be too much? could you show a lil' piece of you skin before and after (not needing to show your face? yeah sorry im asking for too much)

In previous times I really felt insulted indeed! But I got used to it now. Even though, I totally agree, most of these people really seem to have a whole different view of what beauty is. And I mean, I'm not approaching them either, asking if they are "alright because they look so burned"
Well, I call it the elegant paleness :p

^^ a few years ago i felt insulted as well by such comments.
but after some time i realized that it's always the same kind of people (and not exactly the smartest ;)) who make that kind of comments.

now it just makes me laugh :D i'm quite satisfied with my skin colour and prefer staying white and not getting skin like leather when i get older

I just read an article in Cosmo about a girl who worked as a lifeguard for 4 summers and used tanning beds without any sun screen and how she died of melanoma.
To be honest, this is very scary and I do not understand what is so friggin terrible about being pale and why its worth risking your health (and life) for something so stupid
