Fall/Winter 05.06

...so many girls wearing red necklaces...

(it's from the dries show...)
but red is definitely creeping it's way in...
i'm definitley feeling red...

i also just got some red shoes...
but it's NOT a blue red(like the 80's)...it's more of a burnt red or coral...
also feeling burgundy and plum...
^_^

I've read somewhere that velvet is slowly coming back.
and as alot of people above have said, the colors are darker. dark hues, with an occasional bright color to spice it up. I have a feeling that last years feminine style has become somewhat minimal... modern grown up tone...?

true...
plain, printed or burnout velvet (and lace) are like top fabrics for fw05.06 breath..

I'm feeling this as well - and definitely in more autumny tones...and other rich berry type tones. I think we'll be seeing a lot more of this. I quite like it - the colour of confidence - I'm wearing it today!

there is a range of reds.. but personally i'm more in the prune/berry mood

here of my fave reds
by Viktor&Rolf (dark red) and by Ghost (geranium)

i also like the way Pecoraro is mixing two reds together
the dark-ish red coat is by Lanvin*

(Elbaz collection for Lanvin had quite a lot of red for fw05.06 )

I saw this Japanese woman wearing the most beautiful purple - like a navy but in purple. I looked at it and just went "WOW". Definitly a direction I'm heading in, both the navy and the deep purple - does anyone know the name of that hue?

Reading this I'm also wearing red necklaces, three strands of red beads/seeds that have been strung together, ultra cheap from a little old lady at the side of the road. Everywhere I 've been people either stare at them or ask where they're from.

is it like 'ink' blue alliecat?
so many hues of dark blues turn up for fw05.06

I heard something about Victorian style dresses and high waistlines. I think we had a little of that last fall, but I like that style personally.

I am feeling the velvet creeping back in. I agree with the previous Tfsers about lady like staying...I am so happy for this. It's way overdue imo.

true idiotgirl, victorian in a turn of the century feeling is supposed to be THE emerging trend from fw05.06
supposedly it will develop stronger for ss06, i like this trend

*for inspiration from Rochas

^ Alot of that is soo not going to translate or happen on celebrity red carpets. (that pretty green dress would though)

gorgeous stuff you posted lena...
thanks...:flower:...

karma for you...

aww thanks softie.. :flower:

see those are good examples of the industial age/ turn of the century mood we've been discussing about in an older trendspotting thread (was about ss06 trends i think)
maybe i make myself more clear posting those 'examples'

Thanks for the pictures. They are so beautiful, and I've always loved that look.

i see lots and lots of lace and ruffles. i also remember seeing leg warmers quite few times at marc jacobs and chanel. and long socks for that matter.

but you never know which trends people are going to latch onto.

ooh motorcycle boots were another one, and thigh high boots?

edit: i'm still seeing all this tweedy material coming back this fall, but apparently the houndstooth kind of pattern is coming in.
