I've heard there's going to be alot of black.
Black is the new black, apparently ^_^

I'm gonna wear lots of black and blue. Red, purple and teal makes me look awfully pale.

And socks - big, woolly, grey socks. Like Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Mens trousers - also at Marc by Marc Jacobs.

I kinda like the cropped pants, Alessandro Dell'Acqua-style.

I think ankle boots are going to be popular, but of course, best worn with tights or leggings. i loved the looks @ Akris.

What I'm really pumped about is lovely long structured jackets! There seems to be a big focus on line, very anti-frumpy (which I'm all about).

I have nothing to back this up, but I see plaid for f/w. Alot of navy and citrus colours like lime with it in small doses. Bone and the a-fore-mentioned blood red. I also think the bo-ho look will transform into a more folk-ish feel. I lot of hand made touches, chunky knit scarves out of random yarns and the 'arm-warmers' for sure.
I also see a steep decline in the sportwear inspired trend of summer. Think fem and luxe, indulgent.

I actually saw something about hunter's plaids in Elle being huge in Fall.

it seems like the last two seasons have been tartan/plaid... for example, last winter, plaid coats were quite popular, and before that it was tartan in the revival of traditional british style, not to mention all the 'punk' revival stuff that integrates tartan. as much as I love tartan, I personally don't really see it becoming a big trend this fall. I could be wrong. :P (and not too bothered whether I am right or wrong because I have so many vintage and homemade plaid skirts which I will be wearing whether they're trendy or not)

^ I will say that I think a roughly woven, woollen tartan material does seem to sort of go along with the whole turn of the century/victorian/industrial influence that we're going to be seeing...whether people connect literal history with history-inspired trends, tartan was very popular during the years of the industrial revolution (popularised by queen victoria).

agreed on tartan being around for quite some seasons now utopia, somehow it didnt really 'take off' though...

*take a note on patchwork, even though i wont follow this trend, i can see lots of patchwork on the folk/central european/russian mood
check it out at miumiu, kenzo & etro collections

if my observations are right, I'm thinking we will be seeing most all shades of blue, especially classic blues and navy blues.

IMO, everything on the Marc Jacobs collection will be the winter trend - of course people will not push them to that extreme.
All the dark colors are going to be so dominant in the trend. IMHO, black is not new black; dark red/purple/blue are the new black (like several friends pointed out in previous posts). Those colors are going to be in rich materials such as silk, wool, cashmere, and velvet with jewel undertone.
Belt continues to play an important role. It's one of the key accesories to brighten a dark outfit.
Slouchy boots are going to be in thanks to the boho style......personally I still prefer motorcycle boots especially in the icey winter in Boston:P
Everything is getting richer including more exotic skins in accesories.

Well, I bet that bright colors are going to be back in summer 06' and it makes psychological sense.

agreed caffeine, regardless the recent 'sea of black' at the catwalks,
i simply can't bring myself in going back to all black looks, i find them very 'sad' and 'sad' is not exactly what i need at the moment

*also much prefer motorcycle boots to slouch

Oh, I love slouch boots (mainly because of Chloe) and motorcycle boots (I like the Dior's in brown) both.

I'm looking forward to this fall!

Hi Holly !

I'm looking for a webchart of pantone colors that I can download for free for my dog clothing and accessory company. I'm also looking for faux sherling backed with a faux suede. Any ideas? I don't come from the garment industry , so the "learning curve" has actually been "straight up" instead:shock: ( lots of time and money wasted). Looking forward to hearing from you or anyone else that you recommend for help in the NYC area.
Thanks!
Lynda

spike...i think that late 50's early 60's kind of elegance is sexy and i think that's what they are talking about...at least that's how i interpret it...
a more quiet...not so in your face sex appeal...more elegant than flashy...

i'm thinking christian dior's new look...and audrey hepburn and grace kelly...

I hope you're right Softie, I'd love that !

Marc but not Marc Jacobs

Hi all!

Marc Jacobs collection? Yuck. Not here. I love the Marc by Marc Jacobs collection though.

IMO, everything on the Marc Jacobs collection will be the winter trend - of course people will not push them to that extreme.
