In regards to the jewelleruy thing, i'm glad that the brooch is not over yet. however, I think that people are definately making more a move to bigger kind of jewellery, in particular necklaces. I agree, vintage-ey looking bit of baubley things are just getting tiring. But I think that girls are taking confidence from wearing more jewellery such as brooches. I personally am looking for large piece necklaces, like those amber stone chunky necklaces. Quite big and bulky, but such a refreshing change from delicate butterfly things.

spike...i think that late 50's early 60's kind of elegance is sexy and i think that's what they are talking about...at least that's how i interpret it...
a more quiet...not so in your face sex appeal...more elegant than flashy...

i'm thinking christian dior's new look...and audrey hepburn and grace kelly...

I've been seeing this a lot on SPFW. More subtle retro.

M loving this site:heart: !!!!!!!!!!
M new to the world of fashion  n donot know how many collections are done in a year by the designers. and that are different trends forecasted for fall and winter?
(I must be sounding stupid, but plz help:( )

Also, can you plzz tell me some more predicted trends and colors for this fall-winter?

Thnxx luv * *

I think its safe to say in terms of color that blue will continue to be out there. More nautical blues that flow into turquoises and teals. Hope that makes sense. I'm looking forward to the fall already. I like the site too! I've been a lurker for a while, but I'm definitely loving the site.

some designers' website have the runway or so of A/W 05-06. Like Ferre.it.

you might like to check them out :)

hyper trends for fw05.06
*blue
*folk
*geometrics
*volume (mainly skirts)
*lace, lots and lots of it
*shine keeps being strong
*the 40's swing style as far as vintage goes
*neo minimalism

Hi..Thnx Lena:flower: .
Can you plzz tell me something more abt 40's swing style and neo minimalism.

I really think the current trends will move on into winter:

70s trends: boho gypsy, velvet
Metallics
Fur
Black and white
60s: mod look, sweater dresses

A lot of these trends were shown on the runways for the second year, so they should make their way to the mainstream this winter.

You think?

I see a lot of dark colors being used, a lot of black, dark blue, some purple, even some white here and there.

fashion is going towards a more grown up stage.

I see a lady like form the runways but done in a more interresting way, more urban.

Volume is still very much on..

Just my two cents :flower:

and very on the point two cents they are pucci_mama :flower:

i agree on colours getting darker ( a trend which will also hold for ss06) and on the 'grown up' direction, and the volume lines
we obviously had too much of the kiddie/escapism styles ..time to 'escape' to something else ;)

like urbanite said, velvet and metallics are huge but i can't see them as a 70's kind of falshback, not at all. Lots of b&w there as well :flower:

Fur is supposedly a huge trend for F/W...

And what about grommet purses?? Harpers Bazaar said that grommet purses were going to be big....

grommet purses??? I never really like the whole grommet thing...

I'm not seeing any diffinative trends as when I look at lots of designers over all, I see alot of the same thing that has been done over the last decade just reimerging and reinventing.

Last fall it was tweed and purple. I think the purple was not expolored enough though. I am looking for deep dimensional blood reds, purples and sapphire blues for my own waredrobe. Red does seem to be reimerging... but it just might be my own taste noticing things selectively.

Personally, I think 70's disco looks are comming up. All this metallic needs source, and it all really came out of the 70's. I can't shop metallic on ebay with out comming up with 80% disco clothes. Since Boho was so hot, there needs to be a more refined exploration of it, and an era not so distant from it. I notice halters, Sass & Bide type tops are really being obsessed on this summer, so there will be copycats. Unfortunately Marc Jacobs is still hot, and he is so 70's.

... just rambling really....

those colours are very important, rhiannonmars

i think there are few new 'directional' trends like empire lines, lace and more skirts than trousers this winter
