So what is your opinion on "fashion as performance art"? (McQueen, Galliano, Gareth Pugh).
Is it something vital to the fashion industry or is rtw the real essence of fashion?
Do you think it's frivolous or fascinating?

I think "fashion as performance art" makes fashion interesting and if done right... it creates trends by being innovative and unique. Personally, I think designers that are geared towards "fashion as performance art" are the true artists of fashion.

A great topic. The designers and artists who push the boundaries are the reason why fashion is alive. Of course, wearable clothes are an important aspect of fashion as well but Galliano et al will be remembered long after the wearable high street stuff has moved on.

Both are necessary! Εxtravagant, unique designs, 99% not wearable, gets your attention, imagination and are seen as we see a painting. We adore, hate, think about them. Wearable clothes are as well important for reasons so obvious that i m not going to talk about them now. Everything has its role in the fashion industry
