i've just phoned up st.martins and they said i must take a foundation before entering any design courses, and same as westminster...

they said LCF has provided kind of fashion foundation, rather than art and design. Is dis sth new? coz i've never heard of it.

Does anyone know anything about it?

any other art and design/ fashion foundation courses suggestions? thx

I presume a 'fashion foundation' is basically a foundation year where you focus on fashion only.

I did an art and design foundation year, this included doing a rotation of ceramics, textiles, drawing, graphics, 3D, fashion, photography and fine art, this lasted August to December, and in december we chose a subject in which to specialise - I chose fashion. I'd quite recommend doing an art&design foundation because it introduces you to new medias and different ways around working instead of being wholly fashion led. I did this at Newcastle College, there's plenty of colleges around the country that do them as far as I know but make sure you get yourself on a good one and really make use of that year because it will develop you and your work ethic greatly.
