Fashion Stylists - Share Your Work, Give & Get Feedback

Linda, wonderful work ... and I love your bits of information on your website about your favorite trends for spring ... nice touch.

Patrizia ... please let us know when your new site is up an running ... I'm looking forward to seeing it. Love your "bubble" that you are wearing!

Rachel ... can't wait to see your new Coatian pics. I saw the location in your blog and it looks soooo beautiful there.

rachel, can't wait to see the pictures & i'm definitely buying the magazine when it comes out, i'm sure the styling will be gorgeous!

You ladies are too sweet! Honestly I have to say that the styling needed to be really commercial (it's for Joy Magazine afterall, which is an internationally licenesed german mag) but I would definately like to go back to the island with a few models and more photographers to shoot artistic stories.

The islanders are amazing!!!

I'll go post some behind the scenes pics on my blog today, since I don't think they would make sense here.

Muah!

Hrvatska is the most beautiful country I've ever seen. The islands are simply amazing there are 25 or 28 of them. Hvar, Krk, Brac being some of them. Simply amazing.

you're all so talented!Styling is definately something that I want to get into eventually! Maybe I should try to get a job as a styling assistent to see more of that worldXone I love your styling

Hi everyone,

BetteT invited me to this thread a couple of weeks back. Sucks that I've only had the chance to visit it now.
Anyway, how's everyone doing? B)
Like many, I'm also a stylist, but I'm an editor by profession. I just got into styling because it's an interest of mine, and that in the magazine where I work for, there's a lot of potential. Oh, and I specialize in menswear, which also has a lot of areas for growth.
Anyway, there you go. I'll see if there's a published work I'm really proud of that I can upload for you guys to have a looksie.

Have a good day all.

You are in an enviable position, steeltoe, already being on the inside at a magazine. Is that where you are styling or do you do your styling freelance for other publications/clients/tests? I'm looking forward to seeing some of your work when you are ready.

I think that any new stylists should share here too ... and if they have the guts, ask for critiques. The more experienced stylists might be kind enough to take some time to point out your strengths and offer good advice on the things that you can improve. We all learn by doing and we also have to learn to hear other people's opinions and reactions and to use the information to improve. In the real world, the clients/art directorss won't hesitate to let us know when they don't like something. Might as well get used to it and learn how to regroup and make it better.

Welcome back, PantheraStyling!

Of your images, I would like to see the upper right and the lower left in your portfolio, side by side ... they would look very good together. Love the strong posing, the aysimetrical cropping and the cool colors of the styling. Nicely done by the whole team.

Your site is easy to navigate and loads quickly ... very important, I think, because art directors and photographers don't have the patience to wait for fancy flash sites ... they just want to see your work easily. So I think that it's very effective.

Of your work, your 2nd portfolio appeals to me the most ... like the subtle southwestern feel of it ... without being really southwestern. I guess I'm saying I like the colors and textures in the set.
