And unfortunately some folks are wearing them :yuk:
I wore cicada exoskeletons in my hair as a joke during a homecoming theme day back in high school.

It being the early 1990s, most girls wore their hair permed up really big. I didn't have a perm and bear-claw bangs, but I set my hair the night before for the effect, and then strategically placed dessicated cicada exoskeletons throughout my enormous mallrat hairdo

Let it be known that I made a name for myself that day. [/b][/quote]
hahahahah! you rule

Thanks, Brian!

I have never salted slugs...firstly, it is cruel. I mean, yeah, they are disgusting and destructive, but still...I would rather just stomp 'em flat--a quick and merciful end. Secondly, salt is really bad for the plants.

There are anti-slug pellets you can put down to poison them if you have really, really bad slug problems, but I don't have them too bad.

My aversion to cockroaches came about after having lived in a truly sh*tty apartment building once, which had a major infestation. Now, if I see anything scuttling, brown, and almond-shaped, with whiplike antennae, I get into killkillkill mode. It is kind of demoralizing to share your living quarters with a bunch of goddamn roaches.

What an unusual thread to find in this forum. I like it! :woot:

Salting slugs is kind of slow and I've seen bigger ones escape and survive. The best thing to do is go out on a drizzly day with an old pair of scissors and snip, snip, snip. B)

life

dont have a fave bug but I dont kill any of them. all living creatures deserve to live & I dont believe in capital punishment for humans animals or insects.

Oh I really like their wings! Are they very big?

The worst we get in the UK are Hornets (horsefly!?) and Wasps.
I used to sit out in the front garden when I was younger and watch the ants crawling up the tree, then wash them back down with a jug of water (cruel child I know), I also dug up an ant hole one time to see what was happenin' down there...found loada little pupae, I used to keep caterpillars and spiders in pots and jars thinking I was taking care of them only to find them dead or dying in the morning :(

And as always the mean boys in the street would be burning ants with magnifying glasses  oh to be a child again
