i looked through every issue, and here are some discrepancies in the eye thing:

also, it's always the same eye that's covered up!

i love how simple the covers got over the years..especially the ones with
just one word on the cover besides the i-D.

I know nothing about this magazine really.. Maybe I should pick one up

Early 80's. 1982, maybe. Yes, they always did the one eye thing. Except for 'the Anarchy issue' posted above where the girl's eyes are both open. It's really their tradition.

I think the top two qualify as following the eye tradition. And the third one is 'the Anarchy issue' I mentioned. So it goes against the grain.

i don't think it was i who asked, but i did know that! i've been reading i-D for years. but thanks!

also, i was just pointing out that out of over 20 years of covers, there were three that didn't have the right eye closed or covered. of course they go with the tradition, but they're different. and of course having both eyes open would be anarchy.
