its amazing just how many of these models I dont know! Anyone have any more pics of Grace Jones and a model called Elizabeth Bagaya

That YSL ad w/ Liya (the one where she's wearing the purple, laced-up blouse) is the BEST ad Ive ever seen her in, and definitely one of the best ads I've ever seen, EVER! But Im not too fond of the animal-print shot..

I also like Noemie, but she's really more commercial than high-fashion, but she's great for L'Oreal and SI.

You think? I always thought Noemie had a strong runway presence, esp. in the Gaultier shows..

Apologies for not removing the pic in my response..New computer, dont know how to do it..Mods, feel free to act accordingly..

On a side note--whatta difference make-up has become for black models..When I look at a lot of older shots of black models, say, from early/mid 90's and before, the make-up rarely matched the skin-tone of the models, giving them a more "white" appearance..(but of course, it could also lend more to lighting & camera qualities too)..

Make-up has finally caught up with the times and is at its best, wish I could say the same thing for models.

I also agree with you, many of the models in the pics from the early 90's look more white than black.

Yasmin, Karen Alexander and Brandi Quinones have the most penetrating eyes IMO. :)

I love Liya and Alek Wek. Alek's legs are so insanely long, she has great legs, in my opinion.

I love Alec Wek too..Im still trying to decide who I like more: her or Liya..But I guess they both have totally unique qualities, so I guess they're tied in my book..

Anyways..speaking of Jamaican models..who is the model that Naomi Campbell took under her wing? I guess she tried to "prepare" her to be the "next Naomi"

IT BASICALLY MEANS THE SAME THING. IT'S NORAMMY USED THO IN THE CONTEXT OF GREAT ACHIEVEMENT "WE LIKKLE BUT WE TALLWAH!", "WE RULE" OR WE "LARGE", A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH

PS. A LOT OF WORDS WE HAVE IN THE JAMAICAN DIALECT ARE ACTUALLY OF AFRICAN ORIGIN.
