I'm a little late on the trend-- so after calling all the Fendi boutiques in United States-- and getting laughed at-- have realized there are no medium size fendi spy bag anywhere. I have turned to ebay-- am wondering if these two bags are authentic:

They both have the turtle-like texture. Thank you so much! And does anyone think Europe would still have any medium size spy bags?

The one from Whitefashion (petrol spy) is real, the other one, not so sure about. If you live in the US, Neiman Marcus and saks stores are getting spy bags in - probably around the end of august. Once you find a store that is expecting an order, you can be put on a waiting list. Supposedly the Fendi factory in Italy is closed in August and that's why all the stores/boutiques have no stock.

Which dangly piece? The entire woven part right below the pouch? For that amount, the bag should definitely last a few years.

precisely, the whole damn thing. there is this one tiny pin holding it onto the bag and it just fell out. I tried putting it back in but it keeps falling out. and since that piece is supposed to "swing", it can't just be glued. so add this to the problems with the spy: the brown python bleeding problem, the loose clasp problem, the handle problem (don't know what this one was, but heard that fendi recalled bags because of it). I'll say it again, ridiculous!

Lily, I was peering closely at my Spy's dangly piece. I noticed that the tiny pin that holds it to the bag is screwed in at one end. Is yours like this?

The teal's leather looks good but the what has me questioning it is the authenticity card with the lopsided sticker. I remember reading Fendi doesn't have those cards. They only come with care cards. My spy didn't have one and none of my other Fendi stuff has those cards. They were all bought from boutiques.

Has anyone else noticed some of the fake spys on ebay starting at over a $1000? Gosh, I feel bad for the people who win them. There are a few authentic though.

yup. it's like the grooves on the screw are stripped. how the hell that happened, I don't know. all I know is I'm not interested in learning how to put my bags together.

gigi, I just noticed something. On the braided handles of my spy bag, the edges of the strips of leather in the braids are darker than the face of the strips (I hope that makes sense). But on yours, the edges of the braided strips look white, or at least lighter. I wonder if that's something they've changed. But I knew something was different. At any rate, I agree with everyone else. It's a yummy spy!

I found the pic that 'loves' posted her one I think and the dk brown handles the edges of the braided strips are lighter colour or may be the lighting that made them look lighter.

mine's cognac. but it's not shine... I don't see any difference there. It's the edges of the leather in the braids looking like they're not dyed. Or something like that.

No boymom - what iI means is they are slightly different I could be wrong coz I compare from the picture but I gess I could go to the store coz they still have them in stock and have a look at the dk brown one and see.

When I look at your pics I see the handles more shine compare to the dark brown pictures :
