Fendi Spy Bag

The texture on those 2 bags is so diffrerent... Is it just the dark brown that has that bumpiness?

I'am I the only one that not in love with these bags? I keep looking & looking, and I'm still not in love :(

I wonder. I've never seen the dark brown in person, but the ones I have seen (green, cognac, bone and black) were not bumpy. I wonder if it has anything to do with where you bought it. right before the spys came out I spoke with an SA who told me that the leather on the bags sold through department stores would be different from the ones sold in the boutiques -- something about the ones sold in the boutiques being more vintage and distressed. who knows? could have been a ploy to get me to buy only from the boutiques.

I think it's just the pictures (the lighting and the angle). All the leather spys I've seen have some sort of turtle-ish texture.

gigi, I just noticed something. On the braided handles of my spy bag, the edges of the strips of leather in the braids are darker than the face of the strips (I hope that makes sense). But on yours, the edges of the braided strips look white, or at least lighter. I wonder if that's something they've changed. But I knew something was different. At any rate, I agree with everyone else. It's a yummy spy!
Thanks Boymom ^_^
I'm peering very closely at my Spy again   ...being doing this quite a few times since I joined this thread..lol  well, this time at the handles: The edges of the strips are a tad lighter than the face of the strips. The "whiteness" could be due to the flash from my Digicam, IRL it is not as white as in the pix.

^^The woven strips on my handles look as if they're dyed all the way through....

They're slightly less blue than the front of the strips, but not "light" or white.

What are the spy bags lined with?

Are most the fendi design fabric? Or are some lined with shearling ?

although not as bumpy as that delicious dark brown, my cognac is very bumpy in some spots, but it doesn't show in my pics. Lighting can downplay or exaggerate that quality. Anyway, I think I posted some close-ups earlier, but perhaps not that show the bumps.

I actually just sold my bag. Loved the look, but found it kind of difficult to get in and out of compared with other bags. I'm very picky and fickle, what can I say. I still think they're stunning bags, though. I kind of miss it already.

here are those close-ups. the problem is they're all using a flash, which makes everything look shinier(esp. the handles) and somehow less turtley. But every spy bag I've seen is different - some are smoother and more uniform, some are bumpy. I personally prefer the ones with lots of texutre. I doubt I'd be able to pass up on that dark brown beauty.

I've never seen any lined with shearling -- that would be weird. the leather ones are lined in logo fabric, the python ones and maybe the novelty ones are lined in satin.

Does anybody know where i can get my hands on a green spy fendi? I tried the US..but their waiting list is soo long...or if anybody knows what the next leather colours are for the coming season?

I see you are searching high and low for a green spy.

There are several on E-Bay. That's if you feel confident enough that you can tell a fake from the real deal. This one looks fairly good, but I'm not a Fendi Expert - yet. LOL :D #7536440336

There are some without braided handles, those are definite fakes & also more than likely a fake with the yellow tag. Someone on here advised me that if they do have a yellow tag they are a different shade... like an olive yellow?

Post your inquiry and some pics of the bag you find on there in the "Is This Bag Fake" forum. You'll get lots of help there.

Good Luck!

redheadedvixxen welcome to the club...i've been searching and calling the US like crazy looking for it:(

the pictures look good, but I am very very suspicious of the price. before you bid grill the seller.

so you know how hard it is to find. why would anyone in their right mind sell it for $99 (which was the opening price, no reserve)?? I would also point out that the birkins she is selling are totally fake ($500 for a leather one, $1500 for an ostrich one -- come on!)
