I got a question to all spy owners in meduim size(regular size)...I recently saw the large size version of the spy bag and it was scary big on me, made me look tiny and skinny..my mom even joked that i could fit in the bag...The thing is, the SA in the shop said there is no big difference between the large and the meduim...the difference is insignificant...meaning that they are almost the same size, but the meduim is slightly smaller...If some one can kind take a picture of their spy bag holding it, side ways i would be very very grateful I love the spy bag but the size is just bugging me...

Thanks I was getting a bit worried here...I am not a great fan of big bags because i dont put much stuff in them...the paddington was my first actual big bag and i am in love with it...I saw the city Balenciaga and it just seemed too big on me too I hope the spy bag is not as big as the b bag But the style is soo unique congrats on ur bag again

Dulcisima try to see the medium spy before buying it first. If you're generally not a great fan of big bags, the spy (even at the medium size) might be a bit overwhelming for you. Of course it's a gorgeous bag (I wouldn't have bought otherwise) but the size might throw you off!

so those of you who have followed my spy saga, neiman's sent me another one and of course, it's not perfect. there is a good size scratch on the front and a small "cut" on the opening, near one of the handles:

otherwise, the bag is fine and it's pretty "turtley" and vintage looking (which I now look for to distinguish it from the fakes. and I'm tired of this. but on the other hand, why should I settle for anything less than perfect? another weird thing: the dustbag is white -- all the other ones I've had were black. anyone else have this?

Lily, personally i wouldn't settle for this I say send it back & point out to them exactly the problems that you mentioned. For $2000+, you shouldn't settle for anything less than perfect.

My Spy dustbag is black. But the bag is actually stored in another huge foam looking bag (white) before they put the whole thing into the black dustbag (hope I'm making sense here). I asked the SA about this & she said it has something to do with preventing color transfer from fabric to the bag (or was it vice versa I cannot remember exactly ). Anyway, I now left the Spy as it is (no dustbag / foam bag) when I'm not using it. I do stuff it a little to keep the shape.

Lily, I know it is frusterating....but I agree! When you are spending that for a bag...it should be perfect. I have heard that the cognac color is the most fussy and has experienced the most defect's. So the SA in Houston said???? If you can...I would try for another bag...or ,see if they can buff it out or do something with it?

lily, sorry to hear you're having issues with the spy too i'm sure it's authentic, though. although all of the spys i've received have come with black dustbags, i do have a fendi bag that came in a white dustbag. i don't think that should be an issue... and sometimes they just give you a random dustbag (at neimans) cos they take them out and get passed around. i think for 2k, though, i agree with the others in saying you really shouldn't settle for anything but perfect. at that price range, you can get a bag that is far superior in quality...

My pleated spy came from Neimans in a white Fendi bag. Perhaps it's just a department store thing. Does it matter....no.

There is a Fendi store its situated on Sloane Street..If your looking for the leather spy bags there are for 1100 GBP and you have to pay in advance to get it. The SA told me that there is a long waiting list for the cognac I am not sure about the other colours. If you want one, i think you should give them a ring and ask them about what they have avalible but they told me that they will start receiving bags on the first week of Septemeber and they will distrubte them to those who paid in advance...

^ i assume you're referring to the medium sized spy bag with the vanity pouch...? that's the size most people have and that was originally $1970 USD, but they may have raised the price by a small percentage for the fall collections.
