Fendi Spy Bag

Our store is only left with one Petrol. I was told that the person who is holding onto the bag is letting go.

I have 3 days to think if I want the bag. Part of me wants the bag, but part of me wonders why they didn't give to the first person on the waitlist, but they are willing to offer it to me, who just popped in the store just now to enquire. Lucky?

if so, hmm. ok the story is that i was on the waitlist for petrol and they brought in 4. 3 for taka, 1 for isetan. i was suposed to get the isetan one. but in the end they told me that 2 of the petrol bags were defective and offered me a cherry red one instead which i took. so, it's kinda weird. i suggest you better check the bag thoroughly.

I was told by tfs poster Teiko that Isetan still has 1 Petrol. So if they are offering me the last one at Ngee Ann City, it means that these 2 are the defective Petrols? But if that's really the case, they should send the defective bags back, and not sell them, since that would say a lot, not only of their service, but of Fendi's quality control.

I wonder what kinds of defects. Hmm.

it seems quite impossible! unless they recieved 2 new ones in exchange for the defective ones. but i only got the cherry red one 2 days ago. and at that time when i enquire about the petrol ones, my SA said its impossible to get unless i order and wait for 2 months... they wouldn't even show me the defective petrol when i want to compare the colours... but if you got the petrol free of defects congrats!!!

I wonder why the secrecy?? I was told by my local SA that Isetan and DFS were each given 1 petrol and 1 dark cherry. Both colors were sold at DFS and the cherry sold at Isetan. Petrol may still be available at Isetan but I really doubt that they would sell it if it was really defective.

If the bag is in the shop they should be able to show you off someone's else order If not it will have to be from the catalogue.

Try to go on this coming Wed cos you can crash in on the preview of the "Bag de Jour" too Cost SGD2K and above.

I'm still waiting for my green....... ETA posphoned from july to aug to sept...... Even the A/W has arrived and my spy is still nowhere in sight.

I was told by my SA from NAC that waiting time now is min of 4 months and they aren't even sure your order will be met.

hehe. i'm the one who got the "cherry sold at isetan" but seriously petrol was my 1st choice colour. will be pissed if they lie to me... but why would they right? oh well, cherry is nice too... hope you get your green soon i saw it once in singapore it was lovely!

Thanks!!!!!! Actually, I was just calling on a whim before I bought one on ebay (there are two authentic ones right now, including one from leshent) and they had TWO. They held both and I ran over and chose the one with more texture. But the other was very nice, too. Barney's in BH. If anyone's interested. I absolutely love it! it reminds me of gigi's.

I think it is quite impossible for Fendi to get replacements for the 2 defective Petrol Spy within such a short time.

Kare, do check the bag thoroughly to make sure there's no defects if you're getting it...If you read the earlier posts in this thread (page 60+), Lilygirl had a problem with her Spy's dangly piece. Somehow, the screw that hold the dangly piece was loose & the whole dangly piece just drop off the bag..

I think the hologram is called the Fortuny leather. That's what the SAs at my local Fendi store called it.

It's already in stores here, and I was offered a look of it, but I was in a hurry, and said no, which I kinda regret now. I said no mostly because I don't like metallic bags, and the Fortuny looks metallic in the catalogue to me.

It would have been interesting to see it IRL, but I must admit that judging from the picture on saks website, I don't think the metallic leather flatters the spy design much.

kare, I'll really advise you to inspect your bag thoroughly before picking it up. Something just seems fishy to me....

The halogram is very bright! Has anyone seen this in person in the small satchel?

I've not seen it in the satchel, but have seen it in the Spy bag a couple of weeks ago - like the one in the pic (taken from www.saks.com), but in a reddish tone instead of bronze. The interior of the bag is lined in a material like wool, not the usual zucca logo-print cotton lining. The bag looks really rich & luxurious IRL, a bit too loud as a day bag IMO B) ...i still find the nappa leather Spy to be more versatile!

Hmm ... I wonder how true it is. I don't want to pay S$3k+ on a defective bag.

I am pretty much confident its the whole customer not paying issue...but you might as well insepect..hope its defectless and u can get it, and post pix of it =) that will be awesome..

That's what I think about the Fortuny too. Not subtle enough for daywear. But I haven't seen the bag and I could be wrong.
