This tournament was a huge dissapointment when it comes to Fernando He was out-shadowed by Villa so badly. He really isnt in a place he was couple of years ago.

Like sandraswan said he was injured, he just didn't recover well. It's sad that he got over shadowed but honestly I think he just needed a rest. Euro 2008 was his tournament so I think he needed to not have that sort of responsibility again.

Gotta say if looks could kill, his dirty look would.

Yes, but there was just so many expectations I personally had for him. But he's not the same, he has changed as a player (injury or no injury) ever since he went to Liverpool. I liked Atletico Fernando better. But it seemed that he strained some muscle during the game tonight or something, so the injury def isnt gone.

He looked like he was crying and I was nearly crying too
And when Spain was celebrating after the final whistle, me and my brother couldn't see him and my brother (who is 26 BTW ) kept asking "where is Torres? Where is he?" But I agree he needs to recover properly.

Aww I like him with dark hair but I prefer him as a blonde.

I do admire him for his loyalty to Liverpool FC though. There are not many players (if any at all) that would wear a scarf or anything that represents their club team while playing for their country in a World Cup Final.
