I got dark brown eyes, black eyeborws, black hair and tanned skin and i want to find my perfect red lipstick and i am still lost..=( i want a matte look sorta thing nothing glossy, i actually tried something by Naris it was stain i think....
any recommendations would be much delighted...

A brownish red would be perfect for you. I use the same shade. I did not find the perfect brownish red but I get it by mixing regular red lipstick with brown lipstick.

I'm Asian, and pretty fair-skinned (although I do tan easily ). I wouldn't even mind trying a tinted gloss to test out what color looks like on my lips. I'm worried that if I choose the wrong color, it will look very horrible and tacky against my skin, or make my teeth look yellow , and to be honest, I'm not too sure which shades of red (blue tone? pink tone?) is supposed to complement Asian skin the best.

i'm asian, very pale, neutral toned and wear cool shades better. i like MAC lipglass in V-red and Viva Glam has one dark matte red that looks pretty good on me. i find other reds really overwhelming. with really bright dark colours, the trick is to apply very thinly, with finger then a brush for the outline. applying it straight from the tube usually results in a really overly harsh RED RED RED lips

True Classic Red Lipstick. Pink/orange reds, stay away from me!

I'm looking for a long lasting, best if No - transfer lipstick. I LOVE RED LISPTICK but I stay away from the majority of them because they are pinkish/fuchsia toned or orange/brownish. This is no good! Plus I hate metallic, rosty or sparkling lipsticks, (so my pickyness is at rather high levels?)

Uhm, anyway, trying to describe my ideal color is hard but I'm sure most of you are looking for it cause It's both sophisticated and bold.
"Saturated Tomato Deep Red" it's the only description it cames on my mind, sorry! I'm linking some pictures to explain better ...I like them all altough they're different each others, but in my opinion they are beautiful reds!

If anyone wears this colors and would like to share the names and brands, and why not, pics of models wearing it, I'd be so glad


Just to say, I own a tube of long last soft shine by Clinique in Deep Laquer, it's a nice red shade, not pinkish, but depending on weather is more on the brick-brown side on my lips...no good!

^^^ I wish I managed to get that. I think it sold out here pretty damn quick. That being said, MAC Red is a good red on me. Revlon Red is another.

I have to say, it took me the longest time ever to find my perfect red because I am olive/tanned skin and I wanted the perfect red. It wasn’t until a month ago, I read in the MAC thread about Port Red from Naughty Nautical one member ( Trista) gave excellent recommendations, so I just placed an order online I din even try it out, because I was just so fed up with going to the store and the make up artist shows you like 1000 reds and I become undeceive, so when my lipstick arrived….I LOVED IT SO MUCH…
I went and ordered five more! I know its insane, but its just the PERFECT read ( actually I ordered 8, three were for my friends who were raving about how amazing the red lipstick on me and the rest were for greedy me) After all its not everyday a girl finds her perfect red lipstick

And I have to find my perfect red lipstic yet *sigh*. Still keep searching for it. Id like one dark red but not oragny or scarlet, more like rasperry red or just true red and preferably not glossy or wet looking. May be someone has ideas...

my perfect red lipstick is called Tanganyka by NARS.
it is my absolute favorite lipstick shade ever!
its the perfect combination of red, brown and orange. goes perfectly with my complexion.
i only wish it were more matte cos its kinda glossy.
other than that, LOVE IT!

I love MAC Chili. Most reds I try come out looking kind of pink (one of my biggest makeup pet peeves), but this one is a very true red.
