I seriously didn't know that most American's has never heard of her before the VMAs last week. She is HUGE everywhere else so I just stupidly thought the US would know about her.

I love how she wears "bat wings". She's the only person I'll let that slide for cause she is flawless.

Florence and Emma Stone are seriously making me want to dye my hair red again.

i totally love her music & her style but i really can't believe she's only 24 years old! just up until now i thought she was in her 40's! ooops!

I always thought she was a natural redhead, but I read somewhere that she actually has natural brown hair and just dyes it red.

I can not even see her with brown hair...i think it would look so weird because she suits red so much

label basher,i think a lot of that is due to lungs not being physically released in the states till october last year after being out in the UK and europe since july. and she's only had one official live gig in NYC after and a couple appearances on the late-night talk show circuit here. even then it didn't get a tremendous amount of promotion. she hasn't yet done a north american tour either. it probably explains why she is still relatively unknown here....at least till this point.

actually,only within the last few months have i started hearing her music being played.

yeah she has literally just turned 24 like in Aug. I have to agree though...I mean can you believe she is like 3 years younger than like Alexa Chung. :0

That makes sense. I'm glad anyway cause lots of people are now buying her music. Apparently Lungs shot up the US iTunes list since the VMAs and others are saying that they are jumping on the Florence bandwagon which is cool.

WHO IT’S FROM
This CI is hosted by LuckyMag.com and Florence + the Machine, a Brit Award-winning band with roots in indie rock and soul. Lead singer Florence Welch is known for her eclectic sense of style, often wearing outfits she finds in local second-hand shops.

HOW THE WINNER WILL BE CHOSEN
The submissions will be judged by Florence, her stylist Aldene Johnson, and Lucky Magazine’s Creative Director Andrea Linett.

WHAT YOU GET
The winning design will be made into Florence’s stage outfit by Aldene Johnson. The winner will receive $500 cash, transportation to New York, and 2 nights’ accommodation at the Soho House NY to see Florence + the Machine perform at Terminal 5. The winner will also meet Florence and the band backstage and receive a signed copy of their new album, Lungs.

LuckyMag.com will run a full feature on the winning designer along with images of Florence wearing the outfit. The winning designer will also be featured on Florence’s website and Facebook page.

The People’s Choice winner (top vote-getter) will receive a special edition jewel box designed by Florence and Faye Sawyer. This jewel box will contain the band’s new album Lungs, and an envelope with hand-drawn artwork by Florence containing a personal handwritten letter.

The top 10 runners-up will each receive a signed copy of Florence + the Machine’s new album, Lungs.
