Geek Glasses

"geek" glasses are quite common here in Stockholm, it seems like everytime I go out I see a tall emo boy wearing them.

Im really loving the look of white glasses like in post #92. Just wondering though do you guys think that they would look ok on me. Im not blond like the girl wearing them. Im more like the girl in the other pic... light skin with dark hair but I have dark eyes. Do you guys think that would look weird with white glasses?

^ that's the perfect color for white frames...... a really cool combo.... !

ummm geek glasses...

The only form of "geek glasses" I like are the squarish small version. But then again, they don't look that geeky so yeah. lol .. I have a friend who calls them the librarian's glasses lol

^Tiffany7, I think Dark hair looks great with white frames, and blonde hair even more striking with black frames, just a contrast really.
And Kimkhuu, some more of your glasses on the runway!

I tried the Paul Smith ones on today when I was on West Queen...they looked so awesome, but I don't think they will be my choice when I actually make a purchase.

I wear glasses so I can see... lol

As for the trend, I think the look isn't for everybody though it can be cute.

I:heart: my huge vintage KL glasses (from I don't know when), first because if you really are shortsighted, nothing is better than really big ones so the world around you doesn't blur around the edges:glare:. Second, I feel gorgeous in them, imo almost everyone looks better with glasses than without. The only problem is when summer comes cause then you have to choose between them and shades...

Thank u Kimkhuu! I love them to death too. I've tried to figure out whether they are 80s or 90s but I really don't know. Any Lagerfeld experts around here?

One of my friends looks crazy-hot since she begun wearing these thick black rimmed glasses. I have a feeling they wouldn't work the same on me though - you have to have the full persona to go along with them, and the confidence to bring them off with attitude. I'll see if i can find a pic of which ones they are.

I just saw these ones on the net and am SO tempted. They are unlike any glasses I have seen before... and I think this is why I am drawn to them.

Surely, I can't wear them out. Might just have to be for when I'm at home. Thoughts??

Well, I guess my glasses would be considered "geek" glasses as well. I think many of them look good, but one has to be picky about the frames, because there are some that just flat-out don't fit people's faces. There are also some people who just don't have the personality to wear something that bold.

Hmm, I saved her avatar took the picture that had the glasses and morphed them together, put them on my webspace and put the picture up.

Credits: It was a picture that I modified.

I have a wee crush on an arty guy I met who wears proper vintage buddy holly tortoiseshell geek glasses. (with a fedora on top...) they are swell. ^_^

I highly recommend this trend, but some of these pictures...well...the glasses just don't look natural at all. geek glasses by their nature are a bit homely and odd, so it looks a bit weird if you try to glam them up. work the nerdness. :p
