Geek Glasses

my friend wore thick black glasses for a year, and looked adorable. i wore them for a day, and i must say, they looked good on me too. i love em.

I think theses 'geek glasses' are really cute although obviously they would have to really suit the wearers face otherwise i think that they would just look ridiculous. I  wearing glasses and have loads of pairs in different colours and frame shapes. Iv' just bought a gorgeous pair of D&G thick rimmed ones and they're my favourite accesory(sp?) at the moment. I think everybody should have at least one pair of glasses because it can just make a whole outfit. If i didn't need them i would still wear gl;***es cos i love them so much.

they are so cool! I love them:heart:

yes! i love them - together with suspenders and skinny pants. looking a bit dorky can look nice, though you shouldnt adjust your posture to go with it, walking with a crooked back from the imaginative heavy bookcarrier ^_^

though, might 'geeky glasses' be a slightly off term? i guess the cheapest glasses that will be fully covered by the insurance have the right to be called 'geeky glasses'. not Givenchy or Chanel :p

I am considering to get some geek glasses! They're so cool! I wear ordinary glasses now, and I've had those I'm wearing know in about 2-3 years, so I'm starting to get really tired of them. I think I'll try some geek glasses and see whether they look good on me or not. I hope so, they're übercool! B)

I am so sad..I didn't realise this was a full blown trend?
And I thought I was just being unique when I bought my big square black cazals.....:(I mean, I had seen the geeky glasses on the runway and was kind of bummed to know that a designer had started doing it , but didn't realise that people had been doing it on the street? I never see anyone in them??

Anyway, my big inspiration for the look is Mark Borchardt. I love his glasses, although they are a little bit different than the black geeky frame look, they are hot! he's hot!

Can anyone recommend a place to buy these glasses online?
One, where you can use paypal? :o

I'd like the pair, which James Dean has in this photo...
in silver/metal, clear or maybe red. I think the black frames can be too overpowering

So, the grass is always greener on the other side. People who need glasses (me) wear contacts, and people who don't, wear glasses

^ It's the same for me. I don't know why you would want to wear glasses if you don't need them. I find mine very annoying. But hey they can make great accessories.

I have to agree with your last sentence...but sometimes I just wish I wouldn't wake up in the mornings seeing the world through a blur :)

I actually do wear "real" glasses. It's for astigmatism, but I don't really need them because I get along fine without them. I also don't like my glasses because they make marks on my nose (between the eyes) and they're heavy and slide...

Even if I had "fake" glasses, I wouldn't mind because I feel secure behind them... like I am hiding. :D

Vintageamour, your image has been removed because of an invalid source. Please see TFS Guidelines to learn more about it. sorry and thank you.

would you consider these to be geek glasses? because i think ashley makes them look very chic, and i'd actually like to get a pair. ( i usually wear contacts).

That man that libby_bee's posted looks like your face shape. Maybe you could try glasses like that. I'm sure geek glasses come in different shapes and sizes... I'm sure the only thing to remember is that they should at least keep you looking like a geek:lol:
You might also be able to pull off the John Lennon look with your face. He has kind of small "granny" glasses.

hahahaa...alright! pt taken. :) any there particular brands to look out for which make great geek glasses? ive seen really great marc jacobs ones but they dont stock it in Australia!! uggghhh...
