In her own words: "I enjoyed emulating Grace Kelly for this shoot as she is an icon I look up to and adore. And meeting George Clooney…Oh wow, what a dream! He had just returned from Africa and had lost a bit of weight. Meanwhile, I had been in France, on vacation, and had gained a bit! Haha. I remember he was very laid back cool, and very charming. I was nervous to meet him and a bit stumped on what to say, but we ended up bonding over the fact that he had to stand on an apple box to match my height in heels. He then he made me rehearse lines with him-I think he made me read the lines of some village idiot from some play I can’t remember, but it was pretty funny. No other pranks were pulled!"

In her own words: "Ahh, these were really beautiful images. This was my first Numéro cover (2004), and we shot a second one with teased hair and a smokey eye a few years later. Hahaha. I love both! Greg takes really nice personal shots. I really liked working with him as he's always up for a laugh and a drink, and we have mutual friends...he really is a lovely guy."

In her own words: "We shot the Pirelli calendar with Patrick in China, which was very fun. The Vogue India cover was shot there, too. We did a lot of traveling together, between China and India. This was during the time all the new international editions of Vogue were coming out, and my mother and I, Patrick and his son, and Carine Roitfeld all traveled around for a couple months shooting these Vogue covers and the Pirelli calendar. I think Patrick was having a really nice time bonding with his son, and we all felt a bit like a traveling family. It was fun to have my mum there, too...we all had fun!

Not saying the instagram account isn't real, but I've seen several agencies follow/tag fakes in the past. IMG has done it a few times I think, even with other Gemma accounts. I just...feel like it's not legit. But meh, who cares.

I hope she posts behind the scenes stuff and lets us see into her daily life from time to time. For such a well-known face in the industry she sure was a private person, understandably!

I'd say IMG just asked her to set it up to re-connect with her fans etc. She follows all her family, IMG and Beyoncé and a few friends so it seems like it's her own personal thing and not an agency run account.

I hope so too. Gemma's so mysterious, it would be nice to know what she's really like. Even at the height of her career, I never got a true sense of who she was besides her being nice/sweet.

If you look at the IMG site, they have a page as part of most of models' portfolio setups where their social network accounts filter in, so you see all their IG photos, etc. You'll also see the tags reflecting IMGmodels on everything the post on those accounts. I would say that being signed with them means that you sign up to play their agency branding game - regardless of who posts the photos, it's about both the model and the agency getting airtime. Hopefully Gem will never reduce her brand to duckface selfies or endless shots at the gym.
