Gemma Ward

If Gemma were to do Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated the way that Gisele has then she probably could surpass Gisele

Gisele has never done Sports Illustrated, nor has she done a cosmetics campaign. i really think that it's amazing to think that she could have been even MORE recognizable had she done those 2 things.

well, perhaps KK will do them, and then be a household name. gemma has no shot though. she's maybe akin to Shalom or something. very well known in the fashion circles, but beyond that . . ..

It's a touchy topic for me. I think in about two-years' time Ms. Ward will make her way into pop culture.

One part of me will be happy for her success, and another one will be devastated because I just hate popular culture. Many people are still obsessed with huge boobs-small waist-big hips ratio.

from her diary, this seems.. interesting:
As I’m standing in my third look I hear “Out of the way!” I turn around and see Beyoncé heading toward me flanked by four muscular security guards. She takes Naomi’s hand and they strut together out onto the runway, much to the delight of the roaring audience. Once the show is over I rush outside into the cold air, gather my friends together and head into the night.

Guys I just realised...I have a picture of Gemma on my Science book and she is wearing a gold sparkly dress and is sitting with one leg up looking to the side. Her hair is curly...

does anyone have this on their computer??? I can't remember where I got it from and its only quite small...I'll try and take a picture in a few days when I have time^_^

^ for city girl
i hope its ok, i got so confused with all the url stuff. its my first time

If Brooke Shields is the face of the 80s
And Kate Mosee the 90s

Giselle is the face of the which decade??
I think Natalia will be the face of the 2010 decade. She is sexy (CK), commercial (L'Oreal) and also High Fashion.

Gemma will never be sexy in my opinion. If I ever see her in say Pireli Calender/VS/SI I'll freak out and squash the catalogue.tape/what say you and throw it into the bin no matter how expensize or exclusive it is. I love Gemma's work, but she can never be sexy. Besides, I don't think she'll ever need to go in the sexy direction. She could do mainstream girly stuffs.

I personally like Gemma way better than Gisele.

I think the thing that makes Gisele so attracting is that she is great for lingerie. She has more sex appeal than Gemma therefore attract the Men. High fashion magazines mostly attract to females. Honestly, what man reads Vogue or Harpers?

Gemma needs a bit more sex appeal in order for her to work. That is why all of the Victoria's secret girls make so much money and are known all over the world. It is because of the sex appeal.

Go Gemma

I don't personally like Gisele that much, she's a beautiful woman but I don't see that "It" quality in her work. She's very mainstream.

Gemma could be the number one, but she should learn to express herself more. She has something in her, but she has to work hard to get the "It" quality.Personally, I wonder if she can "be" something else than "Lolita"/a doll. I hope she'll become more interesting in the future. If not, I think she won't "steal the Numero Uno spot", or be the face of the decade. But we'll see.

I think people recognize Gisele, but not Gemma.

Gemma will never surpass Gisele and I'm confident in my opinion. Gisele is a star. There are several girls much more striking, but when Gisele hits that runway, she blows all of the competition away. Gisele is the next Heidi Klum. You no longer see "model" in front of her name in magazines because the general public knows who she is.

Gemma is a trend and not one that will hold up too well. The difference between Gemma and Kate is that Kate has a conventionally pretty face and can be sexy when she wants to. The same cannot be said about Gemma. Most of the general public is repulsed by her look especially among red-blooded straight males. Also, unlike Kate she is not versatile enough in her work to stand the test of time.

I'm starting to believe (and hoping) that the next trend is the return to beauty. The type beauty that outshines any pretty actress in Hollywood. Doutzen and Valentina types are what made the public notice models back in the 90's. These types of girls are why I became interested as models as true icons of beauty. They are fantasy women who men desire and women would like to look like. Just wait and see.

Gisele, the next Heidi Klum???:woot:

What's wrong with this statement???

This is an insult to Gisele!

I meant in terms of fame and public recognition.

Actually I don't find Gisele nearly as attractive as Heidi. I like Gisele but Heidi is all WOMAN. Heidi still tops men's lists as the hottest model. :innocent:

^thank you for those, they're beautiful! ^_^ (And if it makes you feel any more virtuous, I've never seen them before:lol: )

Anyway, some more Gemma pics from http://blog.naver.com/madam86
I have to admit, they're among some of the most gorgeous Gemma pics I've ever seen:shock:

(NEW YORK)
Get together some of fashion’s movers and shakers, challenge them to a game of Trivial Pursuit, and sit back and watch. That was the scene Monday night at the Esquire Downtown at Astor Place, as teams from Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, David Tang, and Natalia Vodianova and Justin Portman, just to name a few, racked their brains to win the grand prize: six business-class tickets to Jacquetta Wheeler’s parents’ house in Tangier, described as the gateway to the Mediterranean.
And for good cause, too, as Wheeler hosted the evening to benefit and raise awareness for the Darna Center for Girls, a community house in Tangier that helps at-risk women and children by providing them with educational and practical job skills. Among those who attended, and generously donated to help raise about half of the $350,000 needed to build a new girl’s school, included Gucci Westman, Rachel Weisz, Damon Dash and Rachel Roy, Helena Christensen, Amy Wesson, David Granger, Claire Bernard, and Behnaz Sarafpour. Even Caroline Winberg and Gemma Ward chipped in, offering to accompany the lucky winner of a Rolling Stones VIP package to the concert.
