Lily is prounounced "Lil-ee".

And for the record, I have never met anyone or heard of a name "Gemma" pronounced like "Gamma rays". That is so absurd! LOL - I feel so stupid saying it!

"Gem-ma" as in gem, a mineral, and ma, as in a nickname for mother.

Well, actually, 'w' can be pronounced 'v' in some countries, so y'never know!
Like my friend's last name is "Warth" but it's actually supposed to be pronounced "Varth". She's... German... or Russian or something.

Well personally, I don't like Sasha because she does not have the aesthetic look of a model. Shes quite short, her build is quite masculine and solid and her facial features are hard and edgy.

Gemma definitely has the aesthetic look of a model - shes tall, willowy and delicate.

I really hate when people compare Sasha to Gemma because they are so totally different. They have nothing in common physically apart from large eyes.

Honestly, I've never heard of the name Gemma before, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So, for all I knew, "Jemma" was just as foreign and "absurd" of a name as "Gemma" with a hard "g". Anyway, I happen to think Sasha is lovely, and she and Gemma could pass as siblings in some of their photos, but that's just my opinion. To each her own, right?

Has Gemma ever graced the cover of US Vogue? Can someone please post it if she has?

when Sasha first appeared, someone here said she looked like Gemma if Gemma was on crack and i literally fell off my chair laughing.

Sasha is edgy, but I wouldn't describe her as being beautiful - unlike our Gemma

I used to dislike Sasha for those very reasons, add on that her fans seem to think she is better than Gemma , anyhoo. I am starting to understand her appeal (the scary emotive eyes, the hard face) its all very archaic and brutish, but it works for her. Yes, I think the last model they featured on the cover was Liya Kebede when she was named a UN goodwill Ambassador back in 2005. And it was a very big deal, because they hadn't had a single model on the cover in ages I do think Gemma has the level of success where they would consider putting her on the cover of US Vogue though

i used to think the same way about sasha but now she's one of my favourite models just because of the fact that she's different.

i also think that it is ridiculous to say that you can't like gemma and sasha. they're so different and both are very professional and successful.

Im loving all this sasha and Gemma debate.

I LOVE Gemma so im clearly bias. But I do not dislike Sasha simply because she bears a strong resemblance to Gemma.
Sasha used to, and still quite frequently does, scare me on the runway. But I have seen many good editorials and ad campaigns in the past year that have impressed me. So shes kind of growing on me, IMO editorial are her strongest suit..

But Gemma still rules my world!
