Mijn topmodel: Gemma Ward

Gemma Ward is een model die ik vijf jaar geleden ben tegengekomen in Sydney. Zij heeft toen zo'n leuke indruk bij me achtergelaten, dat ik haar nu even extra in 'the picture' wil zetten.
Ik was daar toen zelf voor modellenwerk, en ontmoette haar tijdens de Australian fashionweek (waarin zij voor de eerste keer meeliep). Ik heb toen heel even met haar gepraat en zij vertelde me hoe bijzonder ze het vond dat ik in New York, Parijs en Milaan was geweest, en dat ze dat ook zo graag zou willen. En dat is haar dubbel en dwars gelukt!
Niet lang daarna zag ik haar gezicht steeds meer in tijdschriften, campagnes en shows verschijnen. Haar 'alien' vormige gezichtje siert ook vele covers.
Het is erg leuk om te zien hoe een meisje die toendertijd 15 jaar was, inmiddels is uitgegroeid tot een ware icoon en wordt vergeleken met grootheden als Kate Moss. Met haar altijd vriendelijk, bijna bescheiden, voorkomen en mooie kledinggstijl vind ik dan ook dat ze dat absoluut heeft verdiend!

I just found this, it's from a girl, who's a model but I don't know her, who has met Gemma years ago during her first Sydney Fashion Week.

Gemma Ward is a model I met five years ago in Sydney. She then left such a nice impression at me, that I would like to put her "in the picture" now.
Back than I was there for modelling work, and met her during Australian Fashion Week (where she walked for the very first time). I spoke with her for a while and she told me how amazing it was that I've been to New York, Paris and Milan, and she said she would like to do that as well. Well she definitely made it!
Not long after that I saw her face appear more and more in magazines, campaigns and shows. Her "alien"-like face is also gracing a lot of covers.
It's very nice to see how a girl that was 15 years back then, has grown out to be a real icon and is compared with giants as Kate Moss. With her friendly, almost modest behaviour en beautiful style, I think she has absolutely deserved it!

there's also a part about a certain actor she might have been dating and about the Black Balloon, but nothing new for us Gemma fans
