Marie Claire cover shot marks return of Gemma Ward

The Aussie model has been putting some time into her acting career with a role in the low-budget drama Black Balloon. Critical acclaim for the film which gained 10 nominations for the Inside Film Awards has given Gemma Ward a boost in the acting stakes. She secured a nomination for best actress along side Rhys Wakefield.

However fan’s of her modelling career will be pleased to see her gracing the cover of Marie Claire this month. The magazine which incorporates both fashion and modelling is also well suited to increasing her exposure as an emerging actress.

The Black Balloon's fortunes continue to rise after winning the a Berlin Film festival award earlier in the year, the low-budget drama has been nominated for 10 Inside Film (IF) Awards, including best actor nods for Gemma as well as her co-star Rhys Wakefield.
