i miss gemma ward in my eyes she is my all time favourite supermodel. she is a smart girl both her parents are doctors...i think she'll get into larger roles eventually. think cate, nicole, naomi it didn't happen for any of them overnight

Her father's a GP, her mother is a nurse. I do hope to see more of her too, but I kind of like that she's finding her own way in and performing in theatre too, rather than getting screen time on any film that may not necessarily be high quality or a decent role.

I really don't understand why nobody in the fashion industry is paying any attention to Gemma. Even when Pirates was showing, no major fashion personality gave the slightest attention to Gemma. It's so disheartening.

i honestly can't think of another example of a model who's career burned soooo brightly and ended so abruptly and completely. it's such a bizarre situation. like she's literally just severed all ties with the fashion world. but she was SO huge there, truly on the cusp of being a legit mainstream supermodel.

it seems like it was her choice to stop and i think thats the best way to leave the industry instead of just fading away or hanging on a thread. she stopped at her prime which wanted all of us to want more from even though shes gone. she left with a bang!

oh i agree 100% that it was her choice! for sure!!

i just think it's crazy. she should be sitting on the MDC Icons list right now. but maybe it all just got a bit superficial and crazy and unhealthy for her and she needed to get away. i don't recall ever reading an interview where she talks about her reasons for leaving fashion.
