Gisele Bundchen

i bet what's going on in her mind when she was walking that runway is: oh, those days at the vsfh

Am I the only one who doesn't like her body?... I think she's looking TOO ripped. Which I don't find that looks very good on a lingerie show.

Her boobs did go but I think her bod is insane (especially legs and butt). Long enough for couture but toned enough for lingerie. She has never had much of a waist but her abs are great.

She reminds me of how she looked in VSFS 2003/2004. (Even if I always preferred her in VSFS 05/06)

If that's the crap she wants to do, then she should have just stayed at VS. I was under the impression that she wanted to do something other than lingerie and that was why she left. If I were her, I would have preferred to stay at VS than model for HOPE.
Gisele left VS because she wanted more money and they refused. For those who think that VS was stupid to let her go, IMO that was not the case either because even though she sold the merchandise, I don't know if she was the top seller at the time that she was making those demands judging by who was dominating the covers and pages during that time. VS would have had to do something unprecedented and very creative with her like give her her own line, but even then I am not sure if that would have worked out as well as the stuff that she has done since then because most of the big money that she has made comes from outside the US. To me just like Tyra and eventually Heidi, Gisele outgrew VS and from their standpoint, I would not say that she outlived her usefulness, but VS had other models in their stable who could sell the merchandise and be available to shoot a gazillion catalog pages.

To me Gisele is more of a business woman than a fashion-phile with her strengths lying in savvy deal making and marketing and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I think Gisele left too because right around that time her sandals line began booming and we all know VS takes up alot of a models time. I think she just outgrew it and wanted new things. I don't think it was a bad split like the media (almost always like to play up) Ed always talks so fondly of her and she and Tom even stay in his penthouse when they stay in Miami.

Gisele wasn't overloaded in VS catalogs but she was always doing the advertising for them. Dream Angels Heavenly was America's #1 sold fragrance right? Gisele was the face of it for many years.

and yes she is a great business woman with a great team. Her website is so organized and professional looking compared to alot of models IMO.

did she take a chanel 2.55 bag in the pic????

Yes I believe so. :)

What I like about Gisele's career is it's unitentifiable. Is she just a commercial model? no. Is she just a fashion model? no. Is she just a business/personality model ala Tyra/Heidi? no. She's a true bonafide Supermodel. :D There is nothing she has not accomplished as a model yet. She's done every big cover, campaign, editorial, runway you can think of. Well I still hope for a chanel, gucci, prada, fendi campaign at least once. :D

I don't necessarily think calling Gisele a supermodel is wrong, just incomplete and there needs to be something else added like mogul or brand or Inc. She brings to mind someone who has transcended her base profession like Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods. I don't agree that she is much different than Heidi and the only reason that she is different than Tyra is because Tyra, despite ANTM, has no real interest in the fashion industry. I think that Heidi has more of a mass market base in the US and Europe and Gisele has more of a high fashion base in the US and Europe, but in Brazil she swings both ways, but they are both basically branding themselves / embarking on ventures with themselves as the face.

Poor Gisele, all she has now is her name. Her body is not as it once was, her boobs are gone...her face is still kinda fresh though. And can we stop with the OH SHE SELLS thing. Do u think if Alessandra had all the opportunities Gisele had that she won't sell as much as Gisele does?

There's nothing poor about her.

and no one's saying other models don't sell well or aren't successful, lol.

and even if models aren't what they once were that doesn't stop Kate,Naomi,Helena,Cindy,Christy,Linda from being amazing. :flower:

Except models like Alessandra don't have those opportunities, and that's what makes Gisele so amazing... she's managed to keep herself relevant and marketable with both high fashion along with things like C&A, Pantene, Ipanema and now HOPE without the help of a huge contract like VS.

I wasn't refering to MODELS, I was refering to GISELE. And come on lets be honest, Naomi, is still at the top of her game because she looks like she's Gisele's age. Kate is also looking fab for her age. And i didn't say age would slow them down. No-one is saying other models don't sell, but no-one is saying they sell either

Any model who has moved beyond being a two season wonder is a salesperson, she is selling to the public and/or selling herself behind the scenes to designers, photographers and editors.

yeah, Gisele is really unlike any supermodel before her. there just isn't a legitimate comparison. none of the original "supers" have had as much of a broad spectrum success as Gisele in terms of getting contracts outside of "high fashion". Gisele has represented VS, Apple, Ipanema, Nivea, Pantene, American Express, Pepsi, etc etc. not to mention her countless mid-level fashion campaigns from random international companies. all the while maintaining a consistent blue-chip fashion presence in campaigns and covers and editorials. there's just nobody who's done it before with quite the same intensity and profitability.
