Gisele Bündchen in Los Angeles, 2006

“Gisele came out of nowhere, but she changed the game,” said James, “[The VS show] used to be poo-pooed by the elite in the fashion industry. And, now, they all line up. Gisele did that.” James is partly responsible for getting Bündchen together with her quarterback hubby, Tom Brady. VS president Ed Razek introduced the two at a party for an edition of James’ “Sexy” book in 2006. The couple still sends Razek a good-luck note before every show. “I think Tom has some gratitude to the brand,” James said.

whoa what a surprise! Finally life in fashion campaigns again with just her presence.

Gisele looks AMAAAAZING in the Versace shot. Can't wait to see if there are other pics as part of the campaign, as well.

Great to see her back in a fashion ad!

Well, after the insta-model obsession, she finally realized they needed a real super to carry the brand.

Queen Gisele is right.

She's been the reigning QUEEN of the fashion world for literally the entirety of the 21st century so far. Yes, in the past couple of years she's taken a step back. But I think that was actually quite astute career management on her part. Now when she does anything it's an EVENT. And as a genuine bonafide Legend in the industry, that's really where she should be.

Gisele will never be irrelevant. She is now on the same level as Linda, Naomi, Cindy, Kate, etc. A very VERY rarefied position at the very top of the industry. If she spends the next few years being a bit distant and just really carefully curating her fashion work, that's only going to increase her appeal and add to her legacy. Then when she enters her 40s, maybe she'll have another little moment where she's quite prolific again and we'll all be HERE FOR IT.
