Gisele Bundchen

It's really weird that she's no longer the worlds richest supermodel. I always referred to her as that.

source?

Kathy Ireland has made a fortune, that's for sure. and she has about 15 years advantage over Gisele. but, to be fair, she hasn't modeled in about 15 years. so even if she does have a net worth that's higher than Gisele's, i'd not consider her a working model in the slightest degree. at this point, she's a business woman who used to model 20 years ago.

Gisele is still modeling, which is why - in my opinion - she's more deserving of the titled "worlds richest model".

and some here have said Gisele isn't rich from modeling. Well than Kathy REALLY isn't. :p
Kathy is almost 50 and has had her business for about 15 yrs or so, of course she should be richer, but the title still goes to Gisele as she is the active model. The Forbe's list this year hasn't even came out yet. They only count active models I believe. :flower:

I never posted it here but here is the source:

Kathy Ireland Named Top Earning Supermodel

(NewsCore) - Kathy Ireland has been named the top earning supermodel with a net worth of $350 million, according to CelebrityNetWorth.com's list of the world's richest professional beauties.

While reports had suggested Gisele Bundchen would nab the title, it appears that Tom Brady's wife has a long way to go. The Brazilian model came in second, with assets estimated at $250 million.

Cindy Crawford followed with a net worth of $100 million, with Tyra Banks on her tail at $90 million.

Christie Brinkley, Heidi Klum, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Elle Macpherson, and Claudia Schiffer were listed among the top 10.

At the same time, Ireland, 48, appears on the new issue of Forbes magazine along with the headline "Supermodel Supermogul."

According to the magazine, the model who appeared in 13 consecutive Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues has made her fortune from licensing her name for more than 15,000 products, from mattresses to windows, under the umbrella of Kathy Ireland Worldwide.

Apparently, Ireland's brands sell some $2 billion worth of retail products a year. Forbes notes that this is twice as much as housewares guru Martha Stewart.

However, Bundchen, 31, still has time to catch up.

The model recently got into the entrepreneurial game launching Gisele Bundchen Brazilian Intimates in Latin America, Portugal, Japan, and Israel last May.

The brand will soon be available worldwide.

for the same reason tyra is not included in the forbes list.

but i don't think gisele needs to prove she's the highest earning supermodel. we all know that these figures are only rough estimates. but surely, she is one of the most successful model around (work & money wise)

I thought Gisele has made most from her business's. I guess that's the same for Kathy. So if Gisele counts, I think Kathy counts.

Yes. The Forbes list always list models whose income is derived from modeling work (obviously campaigns, but also runway, commercials, etc.), not business ventures. That's why Gisele is listed with I believe 34M last year, not the 250M that is the estimated entire fortune. If you were to go by what the other source goes, Kathy Ireland has always been the wealthiest model for the longest time...it's not like she just found 350M last year.

It's for this reason that I believe next year's list will drop Heidi Klum who no longer models for Victoria's Secret. She is strictly entertainment ventures now, with her Project Runway and GNTM gigs.

^ Wow, never saw that one! Was it ever published in a magazine or book?

This one is hanging in a gallery. The original (just slightly different, she's not resting her head in her hands and no side boob) was published in US Vogue April 06. :flower:
