Okay, Matthew is trying to be the new Karl- doing everything. I will say his obsession with asian culture feels a bit fetishized in a way. The images aren't thrilling or feel new. If it wasn't for the logo, I don't know that this could even truly feel evocative of Givenchy as a house. His collection details are great, when you take a closer look or hear him explain them; but the way it translates to campaigns is still missing that deep connector for me.
For him to have as much control, creatively, as they are allowing him; this could've been stronger. Would love more focus on the clothes and the strength of their details; instead of the celeb. This campaign isn't enough to get me to want to buy. I am fully distracted by Taeyang's hair.
