Glee

YoninahAliza: The only thing that I see fitting for Mercedes and Rachel to sing Take Me Or Leave Me from Rent is that a) Rachel will probably still be upset that Finn won't get back with herb)Merecdes has a brief love interest and get's pissed offor c) they both become lesbians. They will probably join forces rather than singing to each other

haha

shame though, I really wanted a gay couple to sing that song. Yes it's stereotypical, but it would have been interesting to hear Kurt and Blaine give it a try

^Good points everyone about the questions which I asked. I didn't really like Sunshine either (and I agree what a terrible name) but I think that maybe she got pushed out of the way once they announced the casting for Blaine. Darren Criss is just so likable (just like his character) and I feel since he truly was unknown (except for those who were fans of AVPM... like me!:)) people made such a big deal of it. Also Zann, I agree, it would have been cute to see Blaine and Kurt sing Take Me or Leave Me from Rent, even if it is a tad stereotypical. :)

I was just wondering how comes Chris Colfer doesn't have his own style thread in tFS? He is the best dressed in Glee and his personal style isn't bad either.:p

you can always open one in the star style forum, i'm sure some would be interested

i cant believe the first half of the second season is already on dvd.. :errm:
just another way to make a load of cash from the show..

^ I HATE when they do that. It's so stupid and the studios are just a bunch of greedy bastards.

exactly.
im waiting until the full season comes out this time..

i was too excited last time

also someone is singing california girls but i dont know who...
here's another thing i dont get- how does the glee club afford all of the special effects that their performances have used lately?

^ yeah, now that i think about it..
they practically dont have enough money for a bus with the wheelchair ramp, yet they can afford all those effects ?

but then for some reason, im thinking that sue had to give them some of the cheerio budget.. or am i making that up ?

^^^ The special effects are for fantasy. It's not meant to be like real. It's like when they walk down the hallway singing and other casting members are off at the side just going about their business. It's like Grease.

I really wish Kurt's boyfriend's band hadn't sung Teenage Dream as I wanted one of the girls too. Glad someone is doing Fireworks.

Glee's Ryan Murphy Lashes Out at Kings of Leon

Glee stars Chris Colfer, Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch join creator Ryan Murphy and 20th Century Fox Television chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter’s current issue, on newsstands Thursday.

Ryan chatted about the business side of the hit show and dished on why fans will never hear songs from certain artists.

Here’s what he had to share with the mag:

On Eminem: “We went after ‘Lose Yourself,’ and it was jaw droppingly expensive. Around $200,000. We couldn’t
do it because the episode would’ve been so over budget.”

On Kings of Leon, who famously rejected Glee: “F— you, Kings of Leon. They’re self-centered a–holes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It’s like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of Glee all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music.”

(FYI: KOL released this statement to THR: “This whole Glee thing is a shock to us. It’s gotten out of hand. At the time of the request, we hadn’t even see the show. It came at the end of that record cycle, and we were over promoting ['Use Somebody']. This was never meant as a slap in the face to Glee or to music education or to fans of the show. We’re not sure where the anger is coming from.”)

Ryan also shared he’s trying to write in Jennifer Lopez and Stevie Nicks for some future episodes!

I love Eminem, but $200,000? Wow. Now I wonder what the ballpark figure usually is for most of the songs they cover on the show.

I'd love to see J. Lo in Glee (I remember when she guest starred in Will & Grace--she was funny), but I'm not sure her schedule (with AI) will allow her to.
