Yes, it has been confirmed. The person who dies is female, and is not Emma. Other than that, it's anyone's guess.

i think the preview images of next weeks episode pretty much gives away who dies.. if you can read between the lines that is

maybe it's her sister, and she'll get more mean or softer afterwards? either because she lost a loved one or because she realized that live's too short to be so mean all the time? that would affect their lives. just indirectly, but maybe something like that

they're trying to make Shue leave (or not)...all his Broadway talk and then they're in NY for the finals and in the press release it says that he gets some opportunity. maybe it's Terry? maybe for some reason she was the reason he was still attached to the city and then he decides it's time to leave? or Emma tells him to leave and follow his dreams instead of dying without ever having chased them?

To me the promo gave nothing away and didn't even seem to mention anyone dying.

it's not in the press release after all. i read it somewhere like it was. maybe it's from some interview with Matthew Morrison, he's on promo tour for his own CD right now.
i'm too lazy right now to search for it, i just found this little snippet that goes into that direction

Fox's knack for shameless self-promotion continues on the May 24 season finale of Glee. Matthew Morrison's Mr. Schue will sing Morrison's real-life single, "Still Got Tonight" in the New York episode.

Of course, Morrison pitched this idea himself -- big surprise there. Originally, the idea sparked another idea to present it as a big dance number, but someone talked some sense into Ryan Murphy, because now the song will be performed my Morrison alone on a stage in an empty theater. It looks like those Broadway dreams that Kristen Chenoweth's April Rhodes awakened in Schue will play a big role in future episodes after all.

Murphy and even the Fox television chairman, Dana Walden, are insisting that they only allowed it because it worked "organically" for the series, but there's not much that works "organically" for Glee, especially this season, the way they unnaturally burn through plot lines, but I guess we'll wait to see how it fits into the episode itself.

Wow, all this speculation about who dies...I want to be surprised too. I absolutely can't wait for the Nationals season finale. I want Finn and Rachel back together NOW!

about the death: heres a quote from an interview with ryan:

'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy has revealed a shocking secret about that the upcoming Season 2 finale: One of the characters will die.

"Murphy's spoken in the past about not wanting the 'Glee' kids to linger on the show for years and years, and he says that killing off a character is just one of the multiple storylines that he's planned but kept top secret."

this article was talking about the finale episode, which is after the funeral episode. so if the interviewer didn't mash these two episodes together than it means that someone else is going to die and it might be one of the glee kids.

OMG thats more exciting lol now Im thinking its either Lauren, or Tina maybe im wrong but I dunno, I also hope it REALLY isnt Mercedes!!! that would be so SAD! and for sure the main ones as santana brit, rachel and quinn are gonna stay untouchable but this is excting, less days to know the secret!!!

Also I was thinking as the prom was the junior prom that should mean there are at least two more years till senior prom yes? So the cast has two more seasons yes? American's a little help please.

^they are in their junior year of high school so really they have one year left. i know ryan joked that they will stay in high school forever but i really think that he is going to replace the cast once they are out of highschool

actually i read somewhere that ryan was quoted saying that glee will still continue on even when the glee club graduates and he will bring in new students. something with Chord Overstreet being the new generation of glee.

idk if he was being serious or if he was misquoted but I know it generated quite the buzz

^ yea I heard that too, how he started the process already with replacing that other guy in season 1 with chord. Although he doesn't look like he could pass for a highschooler much longer in my opinion. If they replaced the actors they should at least be around ages 19-21 and not near their thirties like cory, mark, and harry.

I just heard some news that Daniel Radcliffe will appear on the season finale of Glee.
He's credited as a cast member on IMDB and on Glee's episodes page!
