Glee

why do they need to do 'tribute' episodes ?
are they doing 2 in one season ?

god.
this show is going to get old real fast.
i can feel it.

If they are only doing tribute episode for the sake of then yes it will get old really quickly. But if its done the way the madonna episode was done then I won't mind so much. Just hope they don't run out of icons too quickly.

Guess what.....

Confirmed: 'Glee' Doing Britney Episode

Is Britney Spears next to be "Gleeked" out? ET knows…

While there's no word if the pop princess herself will appear on the hit show, "Glee" creator/writer Ryan Murphy tells ET that the show is currently in the middle of writing a Spears episode.

The hit show, earning 19 Emmy noms Thursday, will also air a big tribute episode after next year's Super Bowl, but Murphy didn't reveal which star it will be based on, only hinting that we were "close" by guessing Michael Jackson.

GO AWAY NO NO NO!!

I don't know how that Britney episode will be . I like Britney, but only she can sing her own songs.

They´re doing those tribute episodes on "sweeps" or something like that, right? they´re doing only for ratings, which is not a bad thing... after all, they´re already picked for a third season!

i can see that they wanna get ratings of course, but do they really need to do all these 'tribute' episodes, or have all these guest stars to keep their fans watching ?

im a huge glee fan, i do love it, but if they keep having all these guest stars and tribute episodes, its just going to get repetitive and a little boring imo.

how exactly will they fit a britney spears episode into the story line.
im sure the guys (punk/finn/mike/etc) arent going to want to do Britney Spears.
and i dont mean the actors i mean the characters.
kind of like what happened with the gaga episode, they didnt want to do gaga so they got a Kiss song.
so what will they do ? nsync ? backstreet boys ?

its amazing how much it changed from the first half of the season to the second. i cant believe they have only been on for one season to begin with.

they tried to do soo much with this season. some of the storylines should have been pushed back to the second season

^ I agree with everything you said. When I started watching the second half, I seriously thought I was watching second season.

I also feel like there were too many underdeveloped story lines. They would sometimes only pursue things for 2-3 episodes eg. When Finn had to move in with Kurt, then move out. The conclusion to all of that was apparently Finn dressing up like Lady Gaga. After that we didn't get much more.

^ yeah the first season should have been more focused instead of all over the place like it was.

i mean, 9 months went by and we hardly learned anything about some of the characters.
like Quinn, she lived in Finn's house for 1 episode, then with Puck for 1 episode, then with mercedes (which was completely random, that episode mercedes was a little racist toward her and then at the end they are bffs and shes moving in?)

they tried to put out to many ideas in the first season that there is probably not much left for the second season.
i hope im going to be totally wrong, but i dont think the second season is going to be all that great.
just from judging on how the first half and the second half were. -_-

im going to have low expectations for the next season, so hopefully it will be greater then i expect.
because i do wanna love this show til the end.
i love the songs they do (minus over the rainbow by will :judge:)

imo, the only storyline that was random and poorly scripted was Quinn´s and lucky me I don´t care about her or her story LOL

Agree that the first part and the second seemed like two different seasons. The gap was ridiculously long... but maybe it´s because I´m more interested in the songs than anything else I´m not worried about the "direction" the show´s taking or the holes in the stories, you know?

GLEE AT COMIC-CON (Spoilers of course)

Live from Comic-Con: Glee Tackles Britney Spears, a New Love Triangle and...a 3-D Movie?!

293.glee.cm.72510.jpg

Ready to get your Glee on? We just got to chat with Ryan Murphy and his always fab Glee cast, and of course hit up the panel session here at Comic-Con to soak up as much Glee scoop as humanly possible. Here's what you fans absolutely must know...

Unfortunately, Matthew Morrison, Jayma Mayes, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron were not at Comic-Con, so there was no talk about those particular love triangles. We know, we can hear your cries of frustration from San Diego. Lucky us, tons of other cast members were there, and we have plenty of other Glee goodies for your perusal! Here are your highlights:

New love triangle! Ryan reveals that Tina will fall out of love with Artie and start falling in love with Mike Chang. Commence gasps of shock and betrayal.

Britney! The Britney Spears episode, called "Britney/Brittany" will be airing in September and will consists of six songs. "We're doing it in a very funny way. We're doing it in a fun, hallucinogenic way," Ryan reveals. Since Matt Morrison publically voiced his objections to a Britney-themed episode, Mr. Schuester will spend the whole episode refusing to do Britney songs. Ha! Awesome, right?

Glee in 3-D! No, seriously! Ryan was asked to do a Glee movie, but he declined. He did say if he were to ever take Glee to the big screen, he'd want to do "a 3-D concert version from Radio City." Shall we start that campaign now?

More mama drama. Ryan confirmed that Idina Menzel will be back for season two. Holler!

Not bringing sexy back. The rumor of Justin Timberlake appearing on Glee was again squashed by Ryan, but he did think that if he were to come on the show, he'd be perfect as Will's younger brother.

New couple alert! Kind of. Currently, the writers are toying around with having Brittany and Santana kiss. Naya Rivera was also kind enough to drop their fan-given couple name: "Santittany." Titillating!

Less music? In the second season, Ryan and Co. will be focusing more on characters and their stories and less on musical numbers. He guesses season two will average about five numbers an episode as opposed to last season's eight. But rest assured, Ryan did promise that some episodes would get music-crazy.

Geek-splosion! Ryan announced they will be doing a Rocky Horror Picture Show-themed episode.

Season opener. The first half of the premiere episode will be catching up with everyone and what they did on their summer vacation. Ryan plans on starting the gang at "ground zero," as he calls it. "They start the year as bigger losers than they were last year because of their very public third-place finish."

Praise Jebus! Ryan revealed an upcoming episode theme to be religion. Songs to be covered: "Losing my Religion" and "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" Also, Mercedes will be taking Kurt somewhere special: her church! We already have goosebumps forming in anticipation of that gospel number.

Super Glee. We know that the precious time slot following the Super Bowl will be filled by Glee, but Ryan revealed it will be a tribute episode, though he can't tell us who they will be honoring.

Friend forever. Amber Riley told the crowd she loves Mercedes' relationship with Quinn and that she hopes it continues.

Home life. We are going to get glimpses into the home lives of New Directions. Ryan is interested in meeting Artie's mother, Rachel's two gay dads, and he also believes that Brittany has a "really smart older sister."

Extra info from hitfix.com -

1:58 p.m. "Every day I get thousands and thousands of emails and Facebook messages and Twitter replies... about how much that scene effected them," Colfer says of the O'Malley (Kurt's dad) scene, calling O'Malley "flawless."

2:00 p.m. "I felt like I was doing something bad. I was like 'I need to get back in the chair,'" recalls McHale of the "nervous energy" that came from the Artie Dancing scene.

2:01 p.m. Jenna Ushkowitz loved shooting her scene pretending to be a vampire and says that she's personally a "Vampire Diaries" fan, not that she'd name a favorite character on that show.

2:02 p.m.
Heather Morris' favorite Britney lines include "gay sharks" and "there was a mouse in mine."

2:04 p.m.
Ryan Murphy says the Madonna episode went over budget early on and that it took 12 or 13 days to shoot it., four or five days more than the usual episode. His words of inspiration, "Do it for Madonna." He calls it the most fun they had all season.

2:05 p.m.
Favorite moments? Riley says "Bad Romance." McHale praises the KISS episode ("I've never been taller in my entire life").

2:06 p.m.
Murphy says that the show will be concentrating on the characters and possibly smaller stories in Season Two, calling it more "intimate." He says there will be "a couple tribute episodes," promising maybe five musical numbers per episode instead of eight. This is *exactly* the opposite of the change they meant last season.

2:08 p.m. A reference to singing Justin Bieber songs gets boos from the audience. (haha)

2:09 p.m.
"I want to do 'The Time Warp,'" Colfer says and Murphy tells him that they will, indeed, be doing a "Rocky Horror" episode. Woo!

2:11 p.m.
The Kurt-and-Finn relationship will continue to be explored in future episodes. A questioner calls Kurt's behavior to Finn "creepy" and Ryan Murphy says he disagrees. The Mike O'Malley/Kurt/Finn triangle will continue to be important. "It gives us a platform to discuss things that people don't really talk about on television," Murphy says.

2:11 p.m.
Naya Rivera and Heather Morris are aware that there's a fanbase that supports the Brittany/Santana relationship. Murphy says that they're writing an episode and debating whether or not the characters should kiss.

2:13 p.m.
There's agreement that they were more scared to meet Oprah than President Obama.

2:14 p.m.
Much love for Chris Colfer. He's asked about the differences between Chris and Kurt. "I had no idea who Marc Jacobs was before we shot the pilot," says Chris, who calls himself a huge, huge nerd. "I'm very awkward and Kurt, he just thinks he's superior to everyone around him and what's not to like about that?"

2:16 p.m.
Many people apparently have pet peeves involving Amber, including a weird vocal exercise with her tongue.

2:17 p.m.
Jenna was the only castmember to be in an actual glee club in high school. Ryan Murphy was also in glee club.

2:19 p.m.
Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth will both be back this season. Colfer says he got their blessing for his version of "Defying Gravity."

2:21 p.m.
Time for details on Kurt's upcoming boyfriend: "We're definitely going to do that," Murphy promises. Murphy wants Kurt to have the high school experience that he never had. He wants Kurt and his boyfriend to be Prom King and King. "We're going to definitely do that in the second season. I think that's an important thing to put into the world," Murphy says.

2:22 p.m.
Heather Morris' favorite part of the season was when she got to wear the cone bra.

2:23 p.m.
Murphy is trying to capture the feeling of being an Outcast Family that he had in his own glee club days.

2:24 p.m.
Murphy expects we're going to meet more of the characters' families. He really wants to see Rachel's gay dads. And maybe Brittany's family. "I imagine my parents work for NASA," Morris says.

2:25 p.m.
"This is a show about why the arts matter," Murphy says, adding that he loves the feedback they've gotten from teachers and people involved in the arts.

2:27 p.m.
Folks also love Riley. Does she have any solos coming up? She doesn't know. "Yes," Murphy answers. He promises that in an upcoming episode about religion, they'll go with Riley's character to her church. He says that Colfer's character will also go to church, leading to a funny uncomfortable reaction.

2:28 p.m.
Having musical experience isn't required for directors, for logical reasons, though Joss Whedon's musical experience was part of what made him attractive to Murphy. He adds that most of their directors are huge movie musical fans, so they get to tap into their inspirations.

2:29 p.m.
Are we going to get any older musical theater songs? Murphy welcomes suggestions for Golden Age musicals they can use, including "Guys & Dolls" and "Carousel." He says they're just getting started and he looks forward to doing those numbers as fans.

I'm so excited

Glee Drops Coach Tanaka

Glee
is parting ways with actor Patrick Gallagher, who is not expected to reprise his role as football coach Ken Tanaka in the smash series' sophomore season.

Earlier, I announced that the Fox musical comedy would be introducing actress Dot Jones as William McKinley High's new football coach, Shannon Beiste.

Now I can tell you that she will not be assisting Coach Tanaka, but replacing him. As he has not been written into the show's first few episodes, it appears that Tanaka ran his course after failing in his attempt to marry Emma.

Will you miss this character or are you excited to meet a potential new estrogen-charged rival for Sue Sylvester?

tvguide.com

although he wasn't my fave i did like his character. he was completely ridiculous and i miss that about Glee. anyone remember the thumbless teacher? i loved that stuff, the second part of the first season wasn't that funny and i'm afraid that new coach will just be another love-interest for Will :yuk:

i'm afraid that new coach will just be another love-interest for Will :yuk:

id rather see her as a love interest for Sue. :ermm:
it sounds like she'll be very similar to her, so it would be more interesting.
especially after will confessed he loved emma in the last episode or whenever he did.

noooo i love ken!! whos gonna wear short shorts now?? they can't fire him because he is a minority!!

but seriously im really upset that his character is gone. i really liked him

Glee Update - Britney Eps details

2mep9qe.jpg

Lea Michele almost gives the whole episode away with these little nuggets of wisdom;

"It's gonna be a really big episode...I've always loved Britney Spears, and I get to do something REALLY cool."

"What I loved about the episode is there's old songs, there's new songs, and Ryan (Murphy) also does what was really cool in the Madonna episode, how he took a song and had the boys sing it. He does the same thing with Britney and I can't wait to hear it because the idea sounds so cool."

"I am singing a classic Britney Spears song that I'm so excited about. I am recreating a Britney video, but I can't say what it is yet."

Prediction time! I'm seeing an emotional "I'm not a girl, Not yet a woman" performance in Michele's not-to-distance future and an all-singing-all-dancing version of "Baby one more time" in the school gym!

According to Matthew Morrison, Mr Schuster will be anti-Britney;

"I like Britney. I got in trouble earlier for comments I made saying I'm anti-Britney, but I'm not. I think in this episode they're going to mirror those comments and I'm going to be very anti-Britney in the episode because I don't like what she represents...It's gonna be a lot of fun and some crazy stuff is gonna happen."

Crazy indeed. The cast also confirmed that Britney will not be appearing on the show (Boo!) and one song of hers has definitely been confirmed - "Stronger". Will the Glee club attempt that chair spinning dance from the "Stronger" video? For the sakes of their limbs-I hope not.

Stronger is my favourite Brit song. She looked gorgeous in the video.
Whoever did her makeup needs a medal.
