It's already big now, and I really like it, it's one of my favourite trends theis season.

The coats in this fabrics look interesting, but difficult to wear.

great trendspotting here, i could adapt this but either on 'pastel or faded shades' or the red version (which goes very well with the new pales)as at the second Marni post

black looks a bit too 'punkish' /60s for me, but its could look cool on someone else :ninja:

nice thread, skirted!.
it's been going strong since last season, hasnt it?. i wish i'd find a skirt..or a jacket...i find gloss accesories a little too overdone.

the gloss makes black more interesting than usual
but isnt this too 'winter-ish' for spring summer? ? ?

True, those vinyl pants must be very sweaty in summer.

Very sweaty, indeed. :yuk: But I think some of the coats would work for spring...showers in particular.

I wore a pouff ball skirt in this texture(vinyl), I have been told that the material looks like I am wearing a plastic bag.......... what do u think? Agree or not? I sorta......

funny
i just brought some gold/metalic shiny fabric..to make a simple sweaterdress out of

i dont know about the patent leather as coats/jackets though...it reminds me of the 90s in a not so awsome way
but for shoes and boots i think it looks great

i love those burberry ankle boots!

i'm afraid it will have a kind of plastic bag-ish 'edge' :D

together with 'the use of feathers' this is one of my less fave ss07 trends :ninja:

Dominatrix meets hooker in a plastic bag. Not a big fan of this. This looks cheap on everyone. I mean if models like Carmen Kass and Gemma look a bit off wearing this then imagine someone like Paris Hilton wearing it. It is not going to translate into real life very well in my opinion. Though I admit I quite like some of the things on the runway, but yes.. I can't really imagine people wearing it.

On shoes, I like.
O clothes, I reaaallly hate. It's one of those looks that looks cheap no matter what it costs.

hmmm i adore and own patent leather shoes, bags, belts, and i even have a shiny satin trench coat so i like... but it can be too much and look too dominatrix if styled really extreme, i like that it can look mod and goth at the same time, but i always try to make it look romantic too not so harsh or pop... i think it can work for spring, if you do black leave it to accessories and the clothes in white or cream can be really fresh

In moderation its very very sexy. Overdone it does look very "fetish" and I don't mean that as a compliment.

I enjoy it when its paired with another more matte texture. Its adds a bit of a hardcore element to the clothes. I so can see people ODing on this though. And I agree that its so wrong for Spring/Summer. I wouldn't want to be out in the heat in that Jil Sander suit. Talk about uncomfy.
