jdsnith, thanks for posting that A&E biography. :flower: Speaking of biographies, are there any biographies of Grace worth reading that you could recommend?

I've got to agree with Ngan, that cover pic you posted of Grace is great. I love how her hair is styled in that pic. Thanks scriptgirl.

nmygan, I am beyond flattered that you like a pic I posted

I really loathe the type of hairstyle she has in #2561, it's so severe.

From what I have seen of this film, it reminds me of GIGI for some reason. I don't think Grace was cast terribly well in this film, but then again, MGM was notorious for miscasting their stars.

Well, Louis Jourdan was in both Gigi and The Swan, maybe that's what you're thinking of? ^_^ Bizarre that it seems like weird casting for Grace because it was like she was going through the same things as that character at the time of filming, and yet, I agree with you, something about that movie doesn't completely work, although I do like it on the whole (and I love those Helen Rose costumes!).

Also, thanks for #2549, never seen it before :)

You are more than welcome for the pics. I don't know if it is because Louis Jourdan was in Gigi that I think The Swan is similar. Even though she was going through a similar situation, I think that Audrey Hepburn and Leslie Caron were better suited for those types of movies. They are just so quinessentially European-it just works better for them.

It was my pleasure! I hope people enjoy watching it. ^_^

You know, I can't really recommend any particular biography. There has yet to be a definitive biography on Grace. Either they're poorly written or too slanted toward Grace the victim or Grace the fairy tale princess. Most of the biographies on her have long been out-of-print, so right there your choice is narrowed down for you. I purchased the now out-of-print "Princess Grace" by Gwen Robyns from a used book store, but I have yet to read it. Other fans seem to like it (or they don't absolutely despise it, whichever way you want to put it :p) and it was written by someone who actually knew Grace (they co-wrote "My Book of Flowers"). However, until a great writer comes along who has total support from the family (and therefore access to much personal information, letters, etc.) and who is able to piece together her life in an unbiased manner, there won't be a biography out there worth recommending.

thanks jd..amazing , i always wanted to see this.. those commercials in part 1 are so classic.

I would love to know what type of car that is that she is driving.

Soooo sorry for the delay...That is a Mercedes Benz 190 SL...They were made between 1955-63. Sharp looking car but did not handle especially well and was way underpowered with a small 4-Cylinder engine...Nice "touring car" for highway trips and all but not much of a sports car, which was what it is supposed to be...:flower:

No. I believe that was a Delange she drove in Thief but i have to check...I went nuts once trying to figure that out also- It turned out to be a French sports car from a small company that is long out of business...I will dig out the details and let you know, but I am sure it was not the Mercedes... (My Dad worked for Mercedes- those I do know!!) ^_^
