Is it true that when Grace died, the family decided not to tell her mom?

 That's terrible! Hope its not true.

So many great pictures on this page. I love how in almost all pictures posted of her she's got this great big smile on her face. So nice to see ^_^.

No. I believe that was a Delange she drove in Thief but i have to check...I went nuts once trying to figure that out also- It turned out to be a French sports car from a small company that is long out of business...I will dig out the details and let you know, but I am sure it was not the Mercedes... (My Dad worked for Mercedes- those I do know!!) ^_^

The Mercedes was used in High Society. Frank Sinatra is in the passenger seat in the photograph referenced. :)

Excellent!! And Grace's Uncle was it, the older guy who was after the ladies in High Society, drove a black MkII Lincoln Continental, one of my dream cars....Get yer obscure car facts, here!!!

TiVO alert!! Country Girl and Bridges of Toko Ri are both on Turner Classic Movies Thursday afternoon, NY time... ;)

Yes, I seem to recall her mom was in very fragile shape and they were afraid the shock would be too great for her and serve no purpose...:(

Hummmm...The more I look at it, the more I'm not sure...I am leaning toward a Lancia now, they made a couple of cars in the Fifties that looked a lot like this...this will surely drive me crazy now until I figure it out for sure... Maybe the legendary Four Bolt Main will know- he's even sicker than I am!!!:lol:

GOT IT!!! I could barely make out "Alpine" on the side of the car but it was unclear, and I automatically though "Alpina" which is a company in Bravaria that Hot Rods BMWs; but I knew it wasn't a Bimmer..

British sports car Sunbeam Alpine it is!! Yeah!!! Mystery solved!! :woot: :flower:

Alpine Sports roadster built from 1953-1955 (...as driven by Grace Kelly in "To Catch a Thief"....
