Grace Kelly

she was hitchcocks favorite^^^ i dont know about fans

i was wondering if her kids and grandkids are like hiltons, or in the society columns , or is it a quiet family?

Oh, I think she was very popular -- she was the top female box office star for 1954 or 1955, I believe, and went from her smallish debut in High Noon straight to presitigous Hitchcock movies and other high-profile movies like the musical High Society and The Swan.

However, her popularity exploded when she got engaged to Prince Rainier, naturally! :)

Very true- she was hugely popular with the American public- and of course the Oscar for The Country Girl! :flower:

oh my gosh, i read this and it is sickening, apparently someone was watching a show and......

CBS network Rachel Ray show had Diane Keaton as a guest.Diane and Rachel Ray said Katie is so much the grace and elegance of Grace Kelly. Rachel agreed with Diane that Hollywood is a place where there's so much to handle and too overwhelming and many crumble due to the pressure but not Katie. She is like a pro and so graceful and the whole audience erupted into applauses

I just watched The Country Girl for the first time and Grace was amazing in it. Definitely oscar worthy role

^^That's one of my all-time favorites! She was the most beautiful Oscar winner!

I love the one with the Oscar too, Scrpitgilr!! :flower:

I have trouble enjoying the Country Girl because of the Bing factor and thinking of them as an item...Yuk...

Yes, Grace and Bing were an item. Grace also had flings with Ray Milland, William Holden,Clark Gable and Bing Crosby. Ann Sothern was the best friend of Ray's wife and she was so incensed over Ray cheating with Grace that she sent Grace a nasty letter via certified mail. Ann talked about it in an interview in People magazine.

Speaking of Grace and Bing, here you go.

Me too, but at least in the Country Girl he plays an alcoholic, I have more problems with High Society...but Grace and wardrobe are too beautiful to let that "little" problem get in a way. ^_^
If only they've kept almost everybody from the original cast (The Philadelphia Story)... Cary and Grace...

Yeah, but I understood that the Bing thing was over by High Society time...And, yes, Grace and Cary could have done 10 movies together, as far as I was concerned!! ^_^ I remember reading that Hitchock would have done anything to get Grace back for Eva Marie Saint's role in "North by Northwest"...I would have loved that too!!

Grace really had a thing for older men, huh?

yes kockie.. its just terrible to even compare the two in any way

Wow that is one odd comparison! What does Diane Keaton know?! :p

Its too bad that Cary and Grace didnt do another movie together, they had such chemistry
