Gucci Resort 2014

can we stop with the 70s revivals? And the pajama trend needs to go now. especially in this sparkly - cheap and sweaty looking fabrics - ugly prints - ill fitting pants variation.
everything looks cheap... even the background!

WOW, this is nice, and importantly many pant options.

I CANNOT believe that "Frida's" shirt. This is supposed to be Gucci, & she really has the nerve to put her actual name in a collection, with that awful team font!! :yuk: This is an all time low for Frida. The entire collection is embarrassing.

The first half of the collection is really pleasing, the second half got a little bit tasteless when Fridas ego decided to get playful.

Oooh I get it - it's a golden sunset beach theme. Cause it's a resort collection. Hence the gold pieces and the browns and the rainbows. sooo subtle, Gucci.

But on a serious note, these aren't so bad when the whole collection is seen, as opposed to what that "worst of" preview would lead [strike]you[/strike] me to believe. You see the vestigial hints of the harem pants from SS 2011, but not so harem-y, more trouser-y, but still baggy/loose. I think the last pic is a very cool/chic outfit for a Casino Royale setting (or more realistically, the buffet). The rest of the outfits border on fun to ghastly.

Thank god for the full collection because I was hating what was posted initially. The stripes and prints instantly remind me of Sonia Rykiel and Marc Jacobs, especially his last resort collection.
Overall, I think it's in tune with what resort is. Then again, it comes off as a bit predictable with the shimmery, glamorous pieces. Those particular glamorous, sequin pieces are the hits here, imo. They're so simple in their shape and silhouette but ooze glitz and glam. I could envision the Gucci girl wearing one of those fab dresses heading out to party in Brazil by the beach with the sun setting all thanks to the fantastic presentation.

The entire collection is so much better than the first few posted, but I'm still appalled at how un-gucci this is. It looks extremley commercial too...
otherwise it's nice ^_^
I actually really like the metallic look a lot of the pieces have, it "reflects" well with the sunset theme.

^I think that may be a result of Frida's involvement with the collection, since she was on maternity leave the day after she presented the house' Fall 2013 collection, so hence why there isn't a strong resemblance as to what Frida has been doing at the house.

I over reacted when I saw the first post and thought that was it. Nice to see the rest of the collection.

The entire collection is good, actually. I believe the designer name is Marc Giannini

it certainly doesn't have the usual elegance I've come to expect from Gucci, but honestly I've seen worse...^_^
