Gucci S/S 2026 Milan

I have to say it: Demna never did anything as beautiful, as shamelessly gorgeous as this dress at Balenciaga and at his whole f*cking career.
This is growth.

This right here is what the new Versace should really be, Demi Moore included.

Demi's dress is wearing her. The length with the sleeves is all too much. Either go that length but strapless and sans sleeves OR keep the sleeves and make them tighter or maintain the flair and shorten the skirt to knee length or so.

The whole carpet call thing is a little odd. I find it forced, adding to Demna's ethos of presenting caricatures and archetypes. It just doesn't feel honest and reads as costume.

The more posts in this thread the more shocked I am, lmao.

You know that when it comes to politics and life people say we get what we deserve. I totally think that with today’s standards (people don’t read, don’t watch real films, they are completely anesthetized, idols are Instagramers and Tiktokers, the cancelling culture… and the cultural activities are replaced by scrolling silly things all day) we normalized collections like this one and even think they are something, so we do get what we deserve…

It’s also crazy that people are so simple that a brand/creative only needs a little bit of cosplay to get good or lukewarm reviews…

What a sad world we live in.

How much did they have to pay Gwyneth to wear that horrendous monogram look? Maybe she’s just trolling us at this point, since the outfit is the polar opposite of the aesthetic she launched with her GWYN line the other week.
Mind you, she was just at Michael Kors last week—which says something about the level of exclusivity Gucci is trying to project.
Why on earth would she agree to wear that particular piece. She's probably the richest person on the red carpet (her and serena williams,) and she picked monograms. Interesting.

Ps. Red carpet are so boring but this worked. They finally got a win a breakthrough. Julia roberts might need to go to gucci.

I’m not impressed.
It’s good, it’s more engaging than whatever Gucci has produced for years (and I include Michele years too).
It’s good to see something that looks like a spark from Gucci again. I wasn’t a fan of the twins show and maybe the last few years of Michele. He did the show in Hollywood so Hollywood in the Gucci narrative is not new.

Sabato’s era was about a color, a soundtrack and the design of his stores.

I think the fear was that Gucci was going to end up being too close to Balenciaga. I’m waiting for next show to see if Demna can pull something out of him that is more than sweatshirts and trolling.

But I fail to be impressed. Literally, since 2015 and the debut of Michele, we have witness Gucci referencing the same old Tom Ford collections. At this point I’m even tired. The fact that it’s presented in a different way doesn’t change the outcome.

So yes, it’s promising but I want more from Demna.

Be nice honey the rapture is today.
i kind of agree with you, even though I do think it's win it's still the same old tom ford gucci mix with bits and pieces from past creative directors.
I think all in all, it was just fun.
The way looking at gucci in the nineties was just fun. But if you're ready for new development and design theory it's not gonna happen.

I did not like the fashion on the photographs that much.... BUT in combination with this "red-carpet-event" it all works for me....
Some things were quite alluring and interesting to watch for me!

...the rapture is today.
I loved how you said it.

I am impressed, but that is the story of Gucci. Fall to the rock bottom and be reborn like a phoenix.
According to Billy Wilder, Marilyn was a very problematic actress, but she also made the screen shine like nobody else. That is Gucci.

This presentation was very unique.
Only Alex Consani's walk and attitude puts to shame 90% of the robotic shows.

The full package has been a moment!

Sorry, I stop, you get my point 😅

Movie was good until they beeped and blurred the Coca Cola and FDA references, kinda cringy to see such a top tier brand being forced to tone down the narrative in order to avoid potential lawsuits. Wasn't the script approved by the legal team prior to the actual filming?

Any info on the pricing? Collection will be available from tomorrow in selected stores but I can't find any info online.
Curious to know the retail price of the entry level logo belts, earrings and the women shoes.

The film was boring, nothing interesting or unique about it. Well produced, but empty and forgettable. People will move on and forget in a week max.

The red carpet felt like a parody that's not funny anymore. The joke is old. So tired of his cosplay shtick. I wonder if all the smoke and mirrors will be enough to push products that are basically archive pieces.

Funny to see how both him and Michele are unable to evolve. They are slowly turning into two caricatures.

Everyone looks good but it’s nothing new. Nothing even exciting. I feel like it’s sharper than ancora. Maybe that’s what they want.

Louis Vuitton is a way bigger brand, yet its PR and marketing feel more mature and grounded, while Gucci often comes across as pretentious. The brand again relies on gimmicky move and exaggerated campaigns, and that’s a double-edged sword imo. The upside (at least what I assume the suits believe) is the massive buzz it generates. But the downside is obvious: it seriously damages the brand’s image, tbh I don't even get why people still love this brand in 2025. The kind of long-term depth and sustainability is something Kering will never be able to reach compared to LVMH.

Hope Chanel steals all the spotlight!

The problem is that Gucci operates still like a fashion brand. Vuitton, over the past 10 years has turned into a global luxury lifestyle brand.
Because Marc left on high, they didn’t have to rebuild.

Gucci with Demna now is back almost at the same stage they were 10 years ago when Alessandro took over. They have to rebuild their credibility in terms of fashion (that won’t be difficult), rebuild their credibility in terms of luxury (that will be difficult), make the right strategic choices that will maintain the brand to a certain status.

The success or not of a Nicolas collection doesn’t put the whole Vuitton brand in jeopardy. And as we saw, he is coming with design ideas but they are always coming with products, categories, stores and things like that.

Gucci has to get out of that « fashion circle ». And I’m afraid they will replicate the same mistakes as previously just because they have to sell and recover fast.

Distribution is something that they will have to figure out very fast for example.

Very interesting point of view Lola.
Maybe they wanted with Sabato to go more for luxury and because they failed miserably they are now forced to go back to fashion.

Luxury is boring because it tends to be timeless; fashion is risky because it needs to surprise.
A balance between the two is rarely given (Karl at Chanel).
Most houses fall in one field or the other, with the inherent pros and cons.
