Guess? Cool or uncool?

Oh my gosh, I wish that Guess hadn't become so trashy.

About 3 or 4 years ago I bought some SIMPLE, classic looking (can you believe it?) Khaki pants (in a nice sort of brushed cotton fabric) and black slacks (none of the nylon synthetic looking crap) from guess, as well as a few simple and classic looking sweaters in nice colors (cream and burgundy and black. They fit well and they were in my price range. It is impossible to tell they are Guess.

The season after I bought those items, everything started going to hell. I mean, guess has always had a lot of trashy stuff--but you used to be able to stumble across some basics in there (I mean at least if you were age 17-22 ish). I think the whole Paris Hilton and Marciano thing really marked a turning point. Everything in Guess became sl*t garb, and Marciano is just worse...eww!

Nowadays Guess is just plain tacky. It really fits to Paris Hilton in the ads.

^ I agree. I remember liking it back at high school.. :P

When I was 10, I had a lot of Guess clothes, but now I don't have many anymore. Guess is nice.

I do like the vintage high waisted, super skinny jeans.

those things rule, they're so trophy wife

I often like their clothes but since they advertise with Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole Smith I have to say: DEFINITLY UNCOOL.

Horrendously cheap-looking and incredibly overpriced for what it is. And I can't stand the people who work there. They act like they're working at Chanel or something.
+ 1 on that point.

And all the salepeople look and feel so fake. Gives me the shivers.

I have always disliked Guess because that's what everyone in school wore and to me, wearing Guess is like you trying to scream to the world "Look! I'm wearing something branded!". I hate how they have to make it so obvious that it is a piece of Guess with those huge "G"s all over. All my Guess pieces are gifts and thank god, so far those gifts are the not so tacky items. I'd never voluntarily purchase them myself.

I think it's dated...I always associate Guess with the 90's, along with other labels like esprit. I've never been a fan...in my book, Guess has always been vulgar.

i dont really know much about their clothes since their bags are enough to turn me off(though there might be one or two that are not so bad..but most)

the G monogram is ugly..it's boring and tacky..looks cheap
some of the designs just screams gucci(and well..i dont like gucci bags anyways)

i dislike guess with a passion.
the clothes are tacky and show too much skin.
their bags and accessories, as a lot of you have mentioned, are all ugly versions of gucci, tiffany...whatever.
i mean..perhaps i could be wrong, cause i have never seriously shopped at guess, and have not gone into an actual store in years. but to answer the question: definitely UNCOOL (to me anyway)

i really like this purse...i saw it in real life and of course, it looked better than this...its only $50 and it looks kind of expensive

i just love the tackiness

Guess? is really trashy nowadays; from hhe monogrammed bags to the barely-there miniskirts. The only items I find are still Ok are their classic jeans-

I think some pieces and their sunglasses are very cute, but it's all very overpriced in my opinion. I would rather use that money to buy something that's less cheap looking. That G doesn't stand for Gucci, ya know. They seem to have forgotten the way they're pricing things lately.

Overrated. I remember toting one of those bags with the logo written all over it in middle school and let me just say
