How often do you buy designer clothes?

I don't purchase designer clothing, but I'm all for accesories... bought my first designer sunglasses last week, but I'm still feeling guilty. :ninja:

Yeah, I figured this thread had to emcompass accessories....I think its safe to say, MOST of us are into the designer bags/shoes (or shades), not the clothes.

I have about a couple of shirts and dresses from designers but nearly all of them were purchased on sale. However, my designer handbag collection was mostly bought at retail. I buy things w/o even thinking, and then when I go back the store, tyhe bag that I bought at full cost is on sale!!

I buy designer items WAAAAAY more often than I should--I just bought that Matthew Williamson square neck embellished top, those super-hot-right-now Johnson shorts, preordered the Michelle Mason Jersey Halter Dress, a Nui tube dress, Fendi Spy Bag (granted it's a replica but still cost me $250). . .omg I'm making myself sick I need to stop, haha

usually when they're on sale. mostly impulse buys.
i also buy right after a bad quarrel with husband - on his credit of course.
i have quite a few pieces hanging in my closet, never worn. i have to stop this madness.

I buy mostly designer stuff, at full price when it's a must have but otherwise during sales...BUT i *never* follow trendy stuff or buy on impulse, my wardrobe consists of basic, classic items and I will only shop for something when I feel it is a necessary addition to my wardrobe, so that means I don't shop that often during the year as I'm not a fan of shopping for the sake of it. Overall my style philosophy is simple and straightforward.

The only designer items I buy are perfumes.I'm a student so I can't afford designer clothing or accessories.I have a few designer clothes that were given to me by my ex-boyfriend's sister (when she had grown out of them) but thats about it.

i buy designer clothes, shoes and accesories every now and then. and almost always on sale unless it's something i can't live without and it never really is. also i buy a lot on eBay. though, i'm more likely to spoil myself with an expensive pair of shoes or bag than a sweater. that's what h&m is for. ^_^

i don't go out with a purpose to buy designer, i buy whatever looks nice and fits well; and if that happens to be from a big designer, then so be it.

Except for jeans, if that even counts, then nothing. Way, way too expensive for my current budget, which I don't see appreciably changing any time soon.

I hardly buy high end designer quality clothes. But I always buy branded clothes.

Not just yet..but when stupid college is over.. yippee!

Never. I'm also a student, with a monthly 6000 NOK (that's about 900 USD) to cover rent (boom, there goes half the money!), food, telephone, other bills e.t.c. . Nope, there's not much left to spend on designer clothing I'm afraid

I've never been the girl to care much about brands or names; I love second-hand shopping, I love bargain-hunting, and mixing old with new. And I bet 40 - 50 % of my wardrobe consists of clothes from HM... My make-up and perfumes on the other hand are all designer.

The most expencive item in my wardrobe now is my new, lovely black jacket from Filippa K. I adore scandinavian design! :D

designer clothes: rarely. designer shoes or wallets or other paraphernalia: whenever i can. Because im a student and i only get like $300 a month for spending (car, housing, food is payed for), that money goes right out the window after just a weekend of going out and drinking...but i did work all summer and made a bunch of money (which was promptly spent), and so i bought several pieces, some of which were on sale and others were not. right now im dying for some new sunglasses...im using my dad's raybans from the 80s currently.

It does pain me that I can't afford a lot of designer stuff when I'm walking around Selfridges but I make the odd deisnger purchase during sales and I get a bit more financial boost when I'm in HK, so I can afford to buy designers there. Nothing EXTREMELY high end tho....Marc, Marni, Miu Miu (and any designer beginning with M...!) I also love consignment stores and designer sample sales and can pick up cheapies there. As Mettchen said, I also use Ebay a lot.

I have lots of designer clothes, and they are all my mom's hand-me-downs and we share our closets basically. (good thing mom had good taste) :-P I'm 13, and really, who needs designer clothes when you're my age?

But on my birthday and for special occaisions I buy designer clothes sometimes.
